First covid 17th March 2020. Long covid ever since. Covid again, December 2020 and again in September 2022. Asthmatic since young child. I knew I was at high risk. 3.5 years later, I now have fibromyalgia and Costochondritis and keep going to A&E with chest pain. I've been through so many Long Covid symptoms. I know that feeling of slumping through each day from one day to the next due to fatigue. This video is very helpful thank you.

I went through all of this Jan 2021 to around August 2021. Lost 25 lbs with most all the same symptoms described in this video. I got better and was 90-95%+ recovered. I got covid again about 7 weeks ago and after 3 weeks of being fine, it is back. Not as severe but still no fun. Can't exercise. Fatigue easily. Shortness of breath spells though not constant like last time. We can get through this.

@@clarissericardo2313 Basically it was working on the overactive stress response every day while believing I could recover and cultivating self compassion. One of the key things is not worrying about the symptoms and getting out of fear of the symptoms and learning The Three Principles understanding was key for that (see John El Mokadem's recovery story). The second key thing was Dr. John Sarno's work also called TMS, which points to emotional repression, so doing lots of work on processing emotions (see Rebecca Tolin's CSF recovery story). I also did DNRS for 4 months which really helped also. Deep belly breathing and learning to be in my body (out of my thoughts) was key also as was walking (I started at 3 mins a day, now walk 1 1/2 or more a day easily. It was really hard especially when I was more severe, but being kind to oneself and working on it slowly day by day you will get there! I wish you the best!

I know John, he is such an amazing soul ! But somehow I’m sabotaging myself , because I still can’t relax into my condition and focus on something else . I feel that I’m still looking for answers, maybe because I was diagnosed with Lyme and mold and not being able to treat it due to my weakness. Lots of questions, fear and worry , but at same time trying to work to calm down my nervous system. It’s seems that is not going to work !! Either you worry or you relax !! I also have pots and hormonal issues , well I have all the package of anrs dysfunction or Cfs /me , or lyme or mold loool . I don’t know if the mistakes you talked about looked liked mine but I’m very glad you are finding your way out through this . I hope I can find my way very soon because what it is really delaying my recovery it’s the worry, the denial and not knowing where to restart. Sending lots of love ❤️

@@clarissericardo2313 There are so many who recovered from Lyme and mold with DNRS and other mindbody approaches as once the brain and nervous system are out of the fight/flight/freeze response the body detoxes, digestion works well again, breathing is normal, etc. They tested loads of random people and so many people tested postitive for Lyme with zero symptoms. When I was really ill it took a lot for me to really go all in believing all the dysfunction is caused by my limbic system, but in the end it was 100% true. I am so glad I was able to adopt that belief or otherwise I would not where I am and probably still trying to figure it out. the trick which has took me over a year to get really good at is knowing I am ok at all times, not caring about symptoms and not fearing symptoms. If I every feel symptoms coming on I tell myself I am ok, I am so safe etc. If I were to worry about symptoms/worry about the condition/not want to feel the symptoms, not be in my body, not want myself to anywhere other than where I am now, my stress response would go up so I have trained myself to not do those things. I do a lot of somatic mediation which has really helped me be in my body feel the sentations (pain) calmly which is telling my brain that these sensations are safe. There is some type of loop where the brain feels unsafe and causes the symptoms, then the symptoms cause the brain to feel unsafe. Getting out of the loop is the key to healing.

Wow Erik, I had a very similar experience to you! I had non stop shortness of breath for 3 months straight! My heart rate was also elevated for weeks! I would have intermittent chest pains as well. Went to ER several times and they found nothing. Was told I have anxiety of course. It's been almost two years now and I'm almost back to normal (I fell ill in March 2020). It was the worst three months of of my life and a gradual improvement over months. I hope that all long haulers will eventually make a full recovery.

I had a severe chest infection and it took 5 months for the SOB to subside. I still 2 years later suffer from fatigue, vertigo, moderate to severe brain fog, PEM, POTS, and occasional SOB and a host of other physical symptoms. Erik, I've seen Miguel's videos about imagining the pain centers in the brain growing brighter (while you simultaneously imagine your pain increasing) and then imagining the pain centers dimming (while you imagine your pain decreasing). It sounds like you used this same technique for shortness of breath? Can you explain how? Also, have you ever used it when you're "crashed"/fatigued?
@erikhodge22982 жыл бұрын
Most of my shortness of breath issues were past by the time I had learned that technique. I have tried it for fatigue/crashes. For me it’s very difficult since the fatigue is so much more debilitating than the pain. But I think with more practice it would work.

I have had long COVID for 16 months. I live in a rural area. No doctor here has helped me. I would have to travel about five hours to get to help. Even then it takes months to get an appointment. And as happened to me , the scheduling staff lost my information so I had to start over again. I still don’t have an appointment with a long COVID clinic. The staff just doesn’t call you back very quickly. This has not been an easy or quick recovery. I get on the internet everyday looking for help. And I have spent a small fortune for supplements, internet programs, books. Just to say, not everybody gets well quickly or has access to help.

So good to hear you are close to full recovery Erik and that ANS helped you...I also do the program. I think talking about vaccines is very controversial...I know of a lot of people who actually got ME following a vaccine and also some who's health has deteriorated from taking the current vaccine sadly....everyone's reaction could be different.
@evelinel.98272 жыл бұрын
A lot of people have final triggers like vaccines, viruses, trauma etc. but it is not the triggers that "cause" the illness, the trigger is just the final straw for brain and body. Alex Howard from OHS calls it "loads on the boat" and the final load on the boat is just the final stressor what tips the brain and body in to the illness, but is not the cause.
@evelinel.98272 жыл бұрын
Also, talking about vaccine is only "very controversial" in the anti-vax and far right communities, not in the science world or the mainstream.
