At 33:51 where you guys are talking about the rental moratorium, there needs to be some clarification. Tenants still are responsible for paying the backlogged rental payments and they have to actually provide documentation to landlords under penalty if they are found to be falsifying information. Tenants are accessing the the COVID relief package money through application, then it is being directly passed onto landlords. Landlords are being compensated. Kicking millions of people (mothers/fathers/kids/etc.) out of their housing only exacerbates the issue at hand. Additionally, there is a COVID mortgage rental assistance program as well which would assist landlords who find themselves in the situation situation you're both talking about. No shade, but Tracy Tutor probably isn't the go-to, expert source on what people below the poverty line, struggling to pay their mortgages are or are not doing-- considering her clientele are multi-millionaires. It's undoubtedly tough on both sides. Let's try and assume the best in everyone and operate with compassion rather than the alternative.

Thank you. The real estate industry is the wealthiest industry in the world and they outspend (by millions) campaigns that try to create renter protections throughout the country. They literally trick renters into voting against rent control with deceptive "help the renter/vote no" campaigns. (See failures of Props 10 and 21.) It's such an uneven playing field. I can't listen to wealthy people make sweeping negative generalizations about tenants.

This is Tracy Tutor. Small tidbit on Rachel Uchitel, she was on the local news here in New York on September 11, 2001 with a picture of her fiancé who she was supposed to be marrying within the next few weeks and it was so heartbreaking hearing her plead to look for him that even the news anchor people had to pause because they were so choked up but she looked totally different, blonde hair back then and when I saw her many years later on a television show , I would’ve never known it was the same person had the show that she was on not mention it.

Heather really wish you hadn’t trashed those needing help. I’m a single mom dealing with hell. Promise my landlord is not struggling. My duplex has been bought n paid for for years. So yes he pays for taxes. I’m responsible for general maintenance snow removal(NY) etc. You need to sign off on WHY you qualify and then to get programs to help you pay it goes DIRECTLY to landlord AS IT should. Promise ya I’m not at Gucci. So many people have made people like me feel like scum on a shoe.

Yeah her comments about feeling bad for property owners are so tone deaf. The power dynamic between landlord and tenant is historically set up to benefit the property owner- renters very seldom have any protection. That is why I don't feel bad for them at all. And being a landlord is not a career/skill so if your only job is owning property and charging people 3x the cost of the mortgage to live there, maybe this is a good time to rethink that. It drives me crazy when rental property owners bring up things like mortgage and property tax. Property tax is usually held in escrow so its already accounted for and rental properties always make much more monthly than the monthly cost of the mortgage..especially if it is multi unit property. I think property owners should have been paid out by their homeowners insurance for those who qualified for the economic impact package.

@@adri22m16 I honestly have only complained maybe 3x max on her pods. This being one bc it was very personal. My landlord has put me through absolute hell. Even during the powwow of poor landlords- still told her to consider being one basically in a sense. Unfortunately this pandemic has made the divide even larger between wealth and poverty. So many rich individuals and corporations bought up property during covid that now they’re going to be able to make much much more POST pandemic and dreams of being a homeowner for someone like me are impossible. 😞. I’d love the wealthy to take a look at how much rent is vs a mortgage payment/ins/and escrow etc still makes the later CHEAPER.

Even in Louisville real estate is hell right now. Tracy is totally right that you can work for people for months and realtors have become so cut throat and some totally unethical. So when you can find a great agent to work a cross sale with, it’s a blessing. People use you at times and don’t care that they screw you over Bc they think it’s no big deal to use you to show them properties and your spending your time, gas, and expertise, only for them to use someone else. Fortunately for me, it’s very few and far between, but I hear horror stories from my realtor friends.

That is the nature of sales. A client owes you nothing. Sales is hard work and no one is guaranteed a sale will be had. The client/consumer is the one who does their research to find the agent that puts it's clients first at all times. You are the one who has to demonstrate that you can deliver in order to keep your client. Sales is tough, business relationship end for all sorts of reasons.
