He’s had cases against him for unpaid claim money going back to the Hinckley case where he shafted them by doing it all behind closed doors. He’s had cases against him for unpaid loans going back to the 90’s too, he had a habit of making people wait years and paying just before things got serious. What’s truly terrible is that people would have known about him, other lawyers, judges and absolutely Erika had to have known, and nobody said or did anything?! He’s not the only dodgy one.

I would never know about the real estate transactions if I were not also the controller of the co. I had an accounting background and read the docs. The co. had an outside C.P.A. firm that I dealt with and received direction from. Erka is not sitting there reading the docs and talking to bankers/accountants/outside attorneys. I even had attorney friends I could run issues by. I was very careful where to put my signature if at all.

Last case I had with Girardi and Keese was the guy with a .39% BA who crashed into our client's overturned truck. Interesting case. No one in the family seemed to know what the dead guy did for a living for two years before his death. It turned out they were living off of cash-out refi's from a home in Moreno Valley. A home that originally sold for $120,000 ended up with $400,000 of mortgages. All that ended in 2008. No reflection on the law firm, though.

You're right: money makes the world go around, and has a role to play in justice. Speaking as a SA survivor, who got a publicly disclosed, court ordered reparation payment for emotional harm, I can't even imagine a lawyer denying a victim their settlement award amount. Just can't even imagine that scope and scale of additional hurt/harm. It's about as basic as a breach of the oath that medical doctors take to 'First Do No Harm" to their patients. If your legal partner was engaged in such conduct, how could the other partners not know what was going on, too?. After all, isn't the firm itself named in some of these historical lawsuits?. I wonder what sealed complaints the Bar may have previously dealt with, but which are not on public record?.

I would think both would sit down and map how long the $ could flow. Tom had to know that the tap could not flow forever. Then the law suits. I do not think Erika knew. If someone brought something to them and it was dismissed, and then he went on to do those same things causing more harm, wouldn't that look bad on the bar's end? The answer is no because they are the body that has authority over medical professionals, but that does not mean a medical board couldn't get state or federal authorities involved if it's required.
