English Translation: On the heath, there blooms a little flower and it's called : Erika. Eagerly a hundred thousand little bees, swarm around, Erika. For her heart is full of sweetness, a tender scent escapes her blossom-gown. On the heath, there blooms a little flower and it's called : Erika. Back at home, there lives a little maiden and she's called : Erika. That girl is my faithful little darling and my joy, Erika! When the heather blooms in a reddish purple, I sing her this song in greeting. On the heath, there blooms a little flower and it's called : Erika. In my room, there also blooms a little flower and it's called : Erika. Already In the grey of dawn, as it does at dusk, It looks at me, Erika! And it is as if it spoke aloud: "Are you thinking of your fiancée?" Back at home, a maiden weeps for you and she's called : Erika.

und das heißt can probably mean "and its name" idk idk german 💀
@Mr.LeoWarren2 жыл бұрын
@@ilaldkxb Perhaps. The line could be "there blooms a little flower and it's named" instead of "and it's called" because in this context it means practically the same thing. Tbh though, I don't even remember posting this.

This sounds a lot more like a version that would be made in the era. What is the source of the version we usually hear?
@simonwilliamnoelmurray91792 жыл бұрын
The other version is the military march song and as such sounds alot more stern. This is still a 'march' but isn't in a military tune The song Erika itself dates back far further in German history, it's just unfortunately associated with the Nazi party
@KP3droflxp2 жыл бұрын
What are you on about? It was written in the early 30s by a guy who then went on to become the chief propaganda songwriter for the NSDAP. So it is a song written by a Nazi and used by Nazis.

looking at the airliner from 2:59, this is most likely the 50's to the beginning of the 60's as the airliner (judging from window placement) appears to be a Lockheed L-1049 Super Constellation, which was produced from 1951 to 1958 (albeit having a service to 1981 civilian versions mostly went out during 1968 for more modern aircraft at the time such as the Boeing 707 and Douglas DC-8) this fact along with the vehicles used in several clips is what I use as a basis for that however.

i like this one better, because it's less dissonant and warlike, and is more cheerful and joyful. Which is what the point of the song is in the first place. It's telling the story about a lady named erika, and that she lives in the hills. Nothing on the song points to anything about an war or something else, yet the one variant that is the most popular, is very dissonant, that it gives that feeling that the song is made for war.

I was watching a documentary about the porn industry in the San Fernando valley of California over ten years ago. An actor (female) didn't want to do an anal sex scene. The male actor said to her, "Look for a way to win; don't look for a way to lose". That's one of the most profound pieces of advice I've ever heard, and in a context I never would have expected to find useful, universally applicable advice for life. You can envision yourself as a loser, losing, or even as having already lost...or you can look for a way to win. Show me the section in the Rule Book where it says "Paying money for German lessons is the only way to learn German". By viewing the situation as a problem with only one solution, you're failing to capitalize on other options which require no outlay. I used to work in a hotel laundry. The department supervisor once said, "You heff to be risorsful. You heff to lern to...".

@@matthewk4301 Looks like the Rhine and Wuppertal to me. And Bavaria. And Bremen. Wuppertal still has this floating railway today. As a recognition value and a sight. There are a lot of interesting stories about it. For example, an elephant once drove with it, and the emperor personally inaugurated it. I used it to go to work regularly, but I moved. There is also a floating train in Dresden But this looks completely different. 2:15 Is also an interesting point. At that time, the police and the military were closer together and had similar ranks. The police or the Federal Border Guard was demilitarized before the fall of the Berlin Wall. They don't look like that anymore. Unfortunately. For a very long time the police had Wehrmacht-like uniforms that corresponded to the tradition of the German people like east Germany even with m35 Stahlhelm. The Bundeswehr never really had that to this day. Efforts have been made but not enough. The Bundeswehr has very untraditional uniforms. At first it was a very bad point because she just wore US uniforms which only changed in the 60s and only after the fall of the Berlin Wall The Bundeswehr was almost deamericated. It is still not quite today. These uniforms are just something in the tradition of the German people. One speaks of the most de-German German army that ever existed, at least until the fall of the Berlin Wall. Since the whole thing got a little better. But not completely. The Bundeswehr was so downsized because of left-wing politics that it has become absolutely insignificant. Until 2015 one could report whether the Bundeswehr would be able to defend Germany what it could not, Today's EU boss, then Minister of Defense of Germany, simply banned it to talk about that. This is now a secret, but that hasn't changed. If the third world war broke out, Germany would need 2-3 years to become mobile, Germany would share the same fate like France in the second world war. That has not changed today because they are desperately trying to keep the Bundeswehr as small as possible despite the large budget.
