When it comes to the 17-year-old who wants to work less, I think the dad is completely in the wrong. 17 is still a child, and I would want to let him enjoy the last teeny bit of his childhood before he spends the next few decades in the 40 hour a week capitalist grind. He's already proven he has a work ethic, let him be a kid a tiny bit longer.
@Crit_Cat_822 жыл бұрын
Exactly. The kid could have handled it better, but he’s still just a kid. The dad however SHOULD have been better. The dad’s definitely the asshole.

When I was younger I got into this fight at school with this racist girl because she said the n word and she said that the kkk “wasn’t that bad”. We argued for a bit at recess and her mom was our social studies teacher. Because she couldn’t be quiet about it her mom overheard. Later her and her mom were very mad at me because of that and the girl got away with it because her mom is there. (Note that I live in Louisiana so I’m probably the only non racist person that was at that school). Then after a week or so we had to do a writing and we looked up a topic and I chose blm. The girl would always rant about “how thousands were killed in the protest” and her mom agreed. So I put in there that like 2% of the protest ended violently. I later saw the girls mom grading my paper and she looked like she was about to throw a fit.

I’m a veteran. There are a lot of immigrants and non white people in the army, mostly service branches. The infantry is prodominantly white but that’s because white because go into war like it’s an 1800’s victorian with original molding for low asking price that the realtor refuses to go into. But I as a female in 2010 was a weapons specialist and my co-workers were very rarely white.

My mom would put all the mis-match socks in a bag and every once and a while would dump it out on the floor and tell me she'll give me 10 cents for every match I find. She never had to find the matches because my young dumb brain was like "I can do so much with this 70 cents!"

Honda civics are basically cockroaches. I had a 2013 Honda Civic and it never broke down. The only thing I ever had to do to it was replace the tires when I ran over an island in a thunderstorm. The only reason I don't have it anymore is because it got fully submerged earlier this year in a flood. The insurance company valued my nearly ten year old car at over 15k. Thing survived everything I threw at it without stopping. I ran over so much, got in to a car accident (no damage at all), spun out in a snow storm, drove it through several tornados, left it constantly unlocked regardless of where I was, left the map lights on frequently (first battery change I had to do was 8 years in), left all the windows down constantly all year round. ran over a center divide with it, went 50 miles an hour through a flooded portion of a highway. It made a weird noise but no mechanic could find a problem with the car so I ignored it and it went away. I never did an oil change on time ever. wanted it dead so I could have an excuse to get a new car but no amount of poor treatment defeated this thing. It took an act of god to bring it down. It took the car being fully submerged by a flood earlier this year for it to be declared totaled. I live in fear of 2013 Honda Civics and their impossible powers of survival.

The kid deciding to work 3 days a week one. ESH. The kid should’ve discussed it with him first instead of just dismissing his parents opinion. He’s entitled and thinks that daddy will be there to break him out of a hard spot. The kid doesn’t know better just because he graduated early. He worked 5-8 hrs a day which is a normal shift. And instead of saving up for college or actual important stuff, he bought a play station and new phone and whatever else he listed. And with the attitude switch and how his dad was acting his dad’s gonna pay for his school. The FAFSA goes off the parents income until 24 & 6 figure jobs gets the child hardly anything, even if expected contributions is $0. The dad being an asshole needs no explaining.
@jesseyunderwood73222 жыл бұрын
I mean, it doesn't say he doesn't have a savings account with money in it. But as they're still not 18, they had likely to have a parent sing on one. And a parent can completely drain it if they're feeling it's valid as a "punishment"
