Great apartment, and in SoHo too. One of the most expensive parts of the city. The artwork thing though..... Supporting local artists is buying their art....not asking for free art to hang on your walls, and use as a "prop" for your KZbin channel. I'm sure some are going to say it's great exposure because you have so many followers and they will see it. Your average follower probably won't buy an extremely large 5'x5' or 7'x'7' piece of artwork they see hanging on your wall. A lot of artists are struggling right now, more than ever, and just like a lot of others, with this COVID crap going on. Your "promise" of exposure isn't going to pay the bills. If you can afford a SoHo loft, you can afford to support an artist and buy their art. Other than that congrats with the new place. It's really nice. :)

In my place, the Bauhaus lighting is done and the last thing I need to do isnlighten up the space is finding a smaller chair that fits with the modern look I’m going for. Do a colab w an interior designer! would be really interesting to see their ideas on how to fill in all of this space
@tatianaprofeta32273 жыл бұрын
Interior design student here. First of all, you should keep the loft window area the wood tone that it already is. Its such a beautiful color. Secondly, I would highly suggest getting an island. There is little room in the kitchen to prep food so the island will give you more prep room but also act as a way to break up the space and create a defined kitchen area. I would also suggest getting plants to bring life and most importantly color to the space. With such high ceilings and everything being white in the apartment it can give the sense that no one really lives in the apartment. I would also say getting natural linen curtains to go over your windows and also the wall that you are creating. It seems like you love simple neutral colors for your home interior and bringing in a different tone of white/beige can go a long way to making it feel like your home and not just an apartment you sleep in. I would also suggest getting rugs and decor that has texture. Our tactile sense is a huge part in which we experience design and the world. I would also probably mount the tv on the wall between the windows because it looks like a picture frame anyways. Also, I would get either a natural wood dinning room table or a mixture of concrete and wood to give it again more texture and visual interest.
@obrianbuchanan61403 жыл бұрын
You should definitely put an island across the kitchen it will look soooooo nice

Tips from someone with a passion for interior design: definitely a kitchen island of some sort, keep the wood on the sliders, mount the tv on the side wall and not between the windows, get floor to ceiling (or like from the window “bench” to the ceiling” curtains in a neutral coloured linen and finally rugs. It’s such an open space that it needs rugs to create different zones, and remember to get very large rugs so they don’t look out of place.

Erik, you definitely have a thing for humongous open-space/lofty apartments. It's a little hard to work with, interior-design wise, but what I'd recommend is softening the industrial vibe here and there to make the space cozier. For example, I wouldn't paint the wood white (there's enough of it already in this apt) and as for the glass wall you're getting -- go for something that, again, would be a slight break from the industrial vibe all over (something with wood perhaps to complement the alcove's sliding door?).

tbh, I'd just use your storage area as a personal office. Unless you have a lot of stuff you need to stash.

Congrats Eric! Even though I've never been in NYC, this loft kind of embodies all the typical things NYC stands for in my imagination. I really enjoyed watching that video. Greetings from Germany👋👋

I really wanna know how much this actually costs per month...I thought you'd have mentioned that at the end of the video.

Epic pad brother. Actually even better than your previous one. That low ceiling corner in the loft is perfect to just chill and work on the mental side of things! 👌

Erik, I'm going to rent an NYC SOHO apartment just like yours. Of course, I have to die and reincarnate as a billionaire first. So, it might take a while.

I'm absolutely obsessed with this apartment! And I'm short, so that loft would make such a perfect bedroom for me. If this wasn't in NYC I would add it to my list of dream apartments.

This place is bigger and way better than the last place, I wasn’t too crazy about the layout in the last place, congrats on the spot. Theo having his own space I’m sure he’s super happy about that as well. 😆

Keep the sliding wall wood wood colored, it matches the pretty mirror leaning against the wall downstairs and it’s a nice accent to the white walls. Also with the floor being a different wood color you could mix and match wood furniture color and get creative with interior furniture styling.

Breakfast bar/ island coming out from the wall across the fridge, new tiles in the kitchen, black hard ware, paint the wood on the loft black to match the bedroom windows
