It might be good for Throoms business to move to a pro2A state.

I grew up with shotguns and rifles new to the sidearm world how can I get comfortable with a round in my chamber

The best way to be comfortable basically to just start doing it. I was a little nervous at first when i started carrying aiwb. After a while I stopped thinking about it. Of course you have to have vetted your pistol and know that it is reliable and such. Time and training

I was the exact same way. Dry fire practice, range practice, get a holster that nothing can get to the trigger on either side (no leather backs), practice, oh.. and practice. I've tried many holsters and have always gone back to full kydex with belt loop snaps that only unsnap in one direction. I have the holster made at a 20 angle forward for my smaller gripped pistols (p365 for example) , 15 degree for larger grip (g19 sized and bigger). PJ Holsters. This let's me grab the grip easier (sorry, off topic). It's a decision you have to be comfortable with honestly. The thing that convinces me after all the practice and safe gear is that in a real situation, life or death, knocked to the ground, I'm not going to have time to chamber a round and mess with a safety. If I'm grabbed and held by one arm, if I need to sneak my draw, if I'm behind an armed robber at a store (he hears your chink chink and his gun goes off), the list goes on. The only time I have time to charge it is if I make the first move (and go to jail) or the situation is possibly not stressful enough to pull a firearm in the first place. I decided I either don't carry or I carry "hot". It also stays "hot" in my speedsafe (I have kids around) next to my bed but I do leave the holster on it. Some people including one of John's lawyer friends says don't carry hot. He's looking at it from a diffrent perspective. He sees people go to jail for accidently shooting the floor and much worse. Only you can make the decision. Watch debates on it, practice, read about it, practice, get a good holster!!!! (Usually under $80), practice, practice, then decide. Even a persons natural ego and temper can change the answer to the question. I won't carry when I plan to drink for example. My attitude is altered. I carry to protect me and my families lives, not just to have a gun for the perfect situation. I figure no act of pulling a gun is an ideal situation. It's gun to be stressful. No sane person ever wants to hurt another including me but if it has to be done I'll hopefully be able to protect myself and my family. Thats why I carry hot or not at all. That's just me.

@@fixitrod4969 Fixitrod, I would not only teach the children to not touch the gun, gunsafe but also the nightstand. Agree with you 💯 percent!
