Of note to the viewer: the "bloopers" at the end are closer to what your gameplay would usually look like. The maneuvers presented here require quite a bit of precision at the higher levels, and the knockdown and flinch chains only work in solo play. They're the kind of thing you'd see speedrunners reset a run dozens of times to pull off because they mistimed a single input. If you've managed to get to level 7 here, you can comfortably say you've mastered the Charge Blade. Anything further than that, and you're pushing into the territory of learning monster AI at a professional level. Not a bad thing by far, but definitely not for the faint of heart. And to Eri N: Keep up the good work. Always a pleasure to see someone reminding people that there's more to this fine weapon than just spamming SAED and crossing your fingers.

Savage axe gp is really only for covering your ass when you go for SAED at a bad time. For exapmle, odogaron just hit you with a retreating tail whip. You gp it and attempt to counter attack with a SAED but he's about to attack you before you can get it off. Savage axe gp.

Every guard point in CB have it's use more or less. While morphing into axe is great because it's fast and easy. Transforming from axe have GP at the end of animation so you need to predict what monster will do. But looking at monsters moveset it's not that hard. I know it's "yeah, this guy probably have 1000 hours with it so it's easy for him". But it's just knowledge about monster and practice. Possible for everyone 🍻

CB is arguably the most complex of the 14 weapons. No one sucks with anything. You just have to unleash it's full potential. If CB isn't right for you, find a weapon that is. If you want to main CB no matter what like me, you have to put in the time to understand the weapon's abilities, strengths, weaknesses, as well as it's best and worst match ups which is why you want to learn each monster's basic, and even advanced, habits and figuring out how your weapon can best counteract it.

Someone finally understands what I mean, when I call Chargeblade, The Stick Shift of The weapon family. Thanks for the vid Senpai.

Usually (Gun)Lance main here, switched to the Charge Blade for fun and really *love* the weapon category! Still wanted a shield weapon but something with a little more Oompfh. So the Charge Blade is a good fit, right? I trained with it and got -pretty good- -confident- somewhat good with it, right? Now after watching this video, I know - I don't know sh*t about this weapon

i've spent around 2000 hunt with CB (2250 hr playtime on PC since the base game till Iceborne), but as long as i remember i rarely did the level 5 (slinger combo) , my mind got locked in the perception of "slinger burst/shot only make a sense with GS, BOW, and SnS" ^^;; glad you put slinger combo in this vid, i forgot that you could make a good CB chain combo with slinger shot

I feel like number 7 doesn't count, cause all it is is you guessing where the monsters gonna go and preemptively doing an attack. It applies to any weapon, not just CB.

Thank to this video it has taught me a lot and I now know im a level 5. Didn't even know about the slinger combo either so this taught me a lot and I still have a long way to go before I master Charge Blade
@theblackbaron41194 жыл бұрын
5:11 that's easy. Especially since you're playing solo, the KO threshold of monsters is pretty low. In MR a lot of monsters now sprint at you in an attack disregarding their own safety. Which is just asking to get guardpointed and thus they get knocked out.

It's not only about learning how to fight with a Charge Blade. It's about learning from monsters too. Nice. 🛐
