I fully agree with you on Midnight On Beacon Street, it was soo missmarketed! I also enjoyed it. Obsessed with your House Of Wax t shirt btw!

I think books being marketed poorly is getting to be a problem more and more. Thank you!! It’s from studiohouse designs! 🖤

Oh man, Iain Reid. I HATED I'm Thinking Of Ending Things SO SO much and I swore I would never read from him again...but then for some reason I picked up Foe and inexplicably loved it! And I agree that Diavola was really hard to read because of the family dynamic, but I did think it was a really interesting take on the ghost story from the perspective of a fed-up, burnt out millennial with nothing left to lose. And I think my favorite read for April was Josh Malerman's Incidents Around The House. That was truly the freakiest book I have ever read in my whole damn life!
@ErinMegan6 ай бұрын
Haha I feel like most people either love or hate it! I wish I had enjoyed the ghost aspect of Diavola, but I didn’t really find any of it that interesting. I’m intrigued by the new Malerman, I have yet to like anything from him, but I have hopes for this one!

I did not guess everything with Bloom either, only one thing I was like oh okay I could see that but it was one of those books I finished and stared at the wall for awhile hahaha

Yesss I definitely wanted to just sit there and think after I finished it. 😅

I feel like you would enjoy reading The One That Got Away with Murder by Trish Lundy. It's a fun messy YA thriller that I really enjoyed.

My fave read of April was Jaws by Peter Benchley. Seen the movie many times so it was about time to read the book.

I’ve read most of Megan Miranda’s adult books. Mystery/twist wise I thought The Perfect Stranger was best, but character/theme wise I liked Widow Hills the best. I wish that book got more hype for the important theme. It’s about a woman who had something happen to her as a child that was all over the news so you’re watching her as she deals with this weird fame she never wanted, and it gets deeper than surface level, like what people expect from you, anniversaries of the event, etc. I’m pretty sure you don’t like true crime so you might enjoy that. Haven’t gotten to her newest yet, but the premise sounds great. She’s so good with atmosphere, The Last to Vanish especially I felt like I was in the woods.

I definitely recommend Just For the Summer by Abby Jimenez. It has the great writing to you loved from Yours Truly, but without the trope you didn't like.
@ErinMegan7 ай бұрын
Okay good to know!! I was either going to try that one or part of your world. I want to give her another chance, I just don’t want to be blindsided by that trope again. 😅

@ErinMegan I read it for a book club I'm in and it was one of my favorite romances I've read this year so far. Now I need to go back and read the other 2. I was hesitant, really hyped books scare me, but in this case I got the same feeling I do when I read an Emily Henry.

@@meganshultz8909 omg perfect!! I love Emily Henry so so much, that makes me less scared to pick up another one!

Have you read Daughters of the Lake by Wendy Webb, The Haunting of Brynn wilder, Where Sleeping Girls Lie, The Family Plot by Megan Collins, Chase Darkness With Me by Billy Jenson? I love cozy mystery books so I got a few of those too. Do you like cozy mystery?

I see "monster" behind you...please please tell me you read "20th Century Boys"? also by Urusawa
@ErinMegan7 ай бұрын
I haven’t! I honestly wasn’t a huge fan of Monster. I liked some aspects, but it was underwhelming for me. I’m not sure I’d check out more of Urasawa’s work.
@ososesar7 ай бұрын
@ErinMegan nooooo please don't let monster deter you from the genius that Urasawa is. 20th century boys has so much to offer. Great plot, amazing character development, endless plot twists, back and forth time lines. My second favorite manga after Berserk ofcourse lol
