Somebody ask me, what I want to eat, it is of I can smell my Hometown, beautiful Amsterdam, I wil never forget you!!!!! Wonderful City along the Ei, where I have gone to school, you're the most beautiful for me!!! I made stockings for the Bata (is a shop) ment for genteel Ladys (public women and sung Traviata for nothing, nowadays, heavy scenes from dying women, but think with joy to mussels! Beautiful Amsterdam I will never forget you!!!!!!! At Donizetti, Bellini, Puccini and the slave choir, I am with my thoughts near the canals and the carillon!

@@familypondman Hello dear "family Pondman"!!! Thanks a lot for being so kind!! These words are very touching... I speak German and so I understand Dutch words and parts, (you bent the maaste for meji", sorry for the misspelling, and more.....) but not the general meaning.... And I'm very surprised about the more personal things like "making stockings for ladies" "singing La Traviata for free".... She looks like a princess herself.... I discovered her just a few weeks or months ago, and she has become my favorite soprano!!! Together with Nilsson, but even more. Luckily, their repertoires complement each other, except for Turandot, which both do better than all the others, but maybe Mrs. Deutekom even surpasses Nilsson, which is amazing because she wasn't as famous and Nilsson was supposed to own that role....But from what I see, she was also much more modest and unassuming and all she wanted was to sing, while Nilsson had more of a business sense.... Not in vain was she born as Miss Engel....She is indeed angelic. I also adore her Christmas album. It would be so interesting to read these words in Dutch, but I don't dare to ask you,..... I only didn't understand what "musseles" was. Also, i would like to know, did she herself write these words? There is the other charming song she sings about your beautiful country, "Holland, met den kuites an den weiden,,,,, You forgetten tue ik nit..." Or so....I almost know it by heart and also understand the words having used copy-paste and Google translate.....At first I thought it was Spanish, because "kuites" sounded to me like "muy bien"....:=)......Thank you very much, indeed, Ik hau for you!!

At the beginning, when she speaks Dutch, I think she says "I had to travel throughout the whole Netherlands because we had 17 performances, and so I almost visited you all,,," Is that true? By saying "public women" you mean the red light district? Something with "Lichteloy,"? And mussels is the food? She was dreaming about that food?? I'll listen a few times and I'll capture more. Some of her recordings, like Timor Di Me and In Questa Reggia and more are the best I've ever heard....She is very emotional and also controls her voice, cresc. dim. volume, stability, high and low registers and unity better than all the "greatest" sopranos, almost to perfection!! I also saw your video and you sing very very well yourselves!!! Beautiful!!! All the best and thanks again!! Are you siblings? Or married couples? Which one are you? If you don't mind my prying.....
