ACC exposed me to GT3 racing, or GT racing in general, and now I find it far more enjoyable to watch than F1. The racing is so intense. I was at COTA a few weeks ago for GT WC America and on nearly half the laps of the 90 minute race there was a 5 car battle for the lead. Someone would get the lead, and then 1 lap later lose 4 positions because the racing was just that close. And then a few laps later that guy would be back in the lead. It was the greatest racing I've ever seen. It was like F1 Silverstone 2022, but instead of just being 1 or 2 laps of multi-driver battles, it was half the race.

The way tires work and feel in this game is so hyper realistic that It has improved my daily driving. My karting skills got better too since I could understand when the tires are losing traction more easily because of game time.

For me it's more the other way around, but yes ACC is very capable of teaching you driving techniques. Shifting balance at high speed without bleeding of too much speed is the most prone strengten for me.

Exactly the same here. There's nothing better than the Ferrari or Porsche packs in the original AC with regards to fantastic driving feel. ACC has better sounds, graphics, and environmental conditions (not sure about physics, but I assume improvement there, too) but AC gives me more enjoyment. For and older school supercar fantasy game, Test Drive Unlimited 1 & 2 were hard to beat - I just wish they had the physics and graphics of AC. My computer sim days go wayyy back - all the way to the original NFS. The original NES had some sims, too, but I don't count those as I didn't have a wheel for that (don't think that was even an option).

I feel like the last update just a few days or weeks ago made the game way better. The new cars are sooo good now. I wonder how much my perception is colored by the fact that ive been iracing a lot lately and that sim is far less forgiving. The feel of ACC is really rewarding. It gives you all of the tools and opportunity to get that perfect lap making great racing within reach of any reasonable driving. Iracing is insanely fun with the variety. I just love racing.

@@BMXAceCA And I will be happy to answer your other question about why nobody play this car in ACC, first of all as I mentioned before, the cup car feels terrible and the way it behaves are completely away from the real car, doesn’t even drive like a Porsche, it actually feels like a Karting car But that’s not the reason why players are not interested in this car, check iRacing and RF2, they all do this cars except ACC, So either players in ACC are less competitive & hardcore, or the numbers of Active Players in ACC are decreasing like hell, if u’ve noticed this u would found that the number was actually lower than AC. I suggest u should have a try on iRacing or RF2 version of the 992CUP, u will understand what is called a CUP CAR, and why it’s a big hit in iRacing&RF2 rather than ACC

It's not totally there, but in regard to a console game challenging it's PC counterpart, ACC does a great job of incorporating most of the PC content. It really feels like you're playing on a PC, especially if you've got a wheel. ACC also has keyboard support and a hidden broadcaster/spectator mode on console. It's a lot of fun watching a race and just changing cameras throughout the field during a live race is entertaining. Makes for good race streams.

LFS is still the goat, since year 2000. Sadly it got that strange time when scirocco didnt launch and physics needed some tweaks. Always loved the procedural sound. You could get any car behavior and engine you wanted just changing car mass, tyres, cylinders. Wish those times came back. Super powerful simlation engine.

I race "GT" level Corvette's and iRacing was always infuriating. ACC feels INCREDIBLE!!! Going into the curb is where it feels amazing. The spongy at first then hard feeling transitioning into the apex is about as real as it can get. Getting out of the corner is still a little rough in terms of realism such as the spring rebound while sliding or that snap grip you get when changing surfaces.

The handling over kerbs has little to do with suspension and tyre model. Basically it was a case of the bumpstop having infinite compression, leading the car body (contact box) to hit the ground. This is why we had so many cars flying off at Eau Rouge due to bottoming out too much, while running extremely soft setups. I have to disagree with the rear sliding. It is still very punishing in general, but the TC appears slightly less intrusive - but it is a step in the right direction for sure!

I hope and pray AC2 acts, performs, drives, and behaves more like AC. AC is so good at giving you that tire feeling and really rewards you for driving on the edge. I want AC2 to be a modernized AC with an awesome career mode and excellent online matchmaking with ranks. Sim racing is meant for mods and this is where AC truly shines. I would love AC2 to have excellent weather, awesome VR performance, rolling starts, full cautions, perhaps oval racing done right. Ahhh don't let us down Kunos.

The brake model is a major hurdle keeping me from using ACC. I understand ABS is there to protect you, but every pro driver I’ve heard says it’s more efficient and effective to be just at the threshold of the ABS triggering. ACC’s concept of 100% brake pressure every braking zone is far from that.

Improper motion blur is what makes the vehicles look static because when you watch racing on TV there's an interpolation lag between frames that enhances the sense of speed. It's the worst thing about modern tvs. What once was a side effect of electron beam scan lines has to be mimicked in games and if you add too much or too little, huh, someone is always going to cling to their personal truth, belief(faith as it's referred to when the scientific method isn't adhered to). But that's my opinion. I can pick out issues in almost everything av related but I meet people half way. Great video and having a real driver (regardless of shameless plugging hehe jk) he's right. There are not many who are experts in both and I'm inclined to believe the expert. Once again great video.

You should have mentioned that LFM actually saved this game from getting extinct. While it is not available for everyone, it still keeps a lot of players at bay. Also Automobilista 2 now also has something like LFM and it's growing. I'm curious how this will play out because you also have a lot more cars there.

Acc is truly a great game and sim. But AC2 has my self as well as alot of the sim drifting community worried that our niche will left ignored. ACs modding community has made simdrifting great and makes esports series like ESDA and VDC possible. I've talked about this before, but I still don't believe unreal is a problem. You are not forced to use the engine's own physics engine, you can write everything from scratch and only use the engine for the graphics. Nothing is inherently impossible with a given engine. Now, that's not to say that it wouldn't be easier to implement a racing game's physics in an in-house engine, but it shouldn't be an impossibility at all

A lot of people had problems with curbes, because their setup didn't had enough suspension travel at the right stiffness. But the game doesn't give you the right tools(data) to setup you car anyway. For aero and speed you need a velocity over distance curve that also indicats what gear you where in and what range each gear has. For springs you need rideheight and suspension travel over distance. Most professionell software will set markers when you lift a wheel or buttom out completely. For dampers there is a histogram from the manufacturer you want to match. For geometry you want to know your slipangle over distance. You can get this stuff with Motec, but i would love to see a Sim adding real meaning to the setup menu and despite trial and error would give the average player a helping hand. In identifing driver errors, maybe in fixed setup sessions and how to adapt a car to your liking in general.

This is just my personal opinion, which I have formed over 25 years of sim racing. AC is the same racing game as f1 2000, rfactor, iracing, GTR, GTR2, ACC... The cars drive like trucks. You can't feel the limit. Real racing drivers also say this, such as Andreas Mayerl Porsche Super Cup driver. He tested the Porsche Super cup mod from rfactor at my house 15 years ago. The AI ​​has been the same for 25 years, you can tell by the flickering brake lights in the curves. No animated spectators, no animated pit crew. Pay attention to the flickering AI brake lights in the corners and you will see which racing games run on the same engine - ISImotor game engine. I drove rfactor for years and was happy about it, but there was nothing else. It's a shame but that's how it is. Graphics and sound are great, those are the positive impressions for me. The unrealistic one Driving physics and the lifeless world are my negative impressions.

Clickbait KZbin title. ACC was never close to failing, it wasn't always great or without issues, but steadily grew as updates brought much needed improvements. SteamDB charts and reviews show as much. I guess sensationalism is easier to harvest clicks with instead of doing the very simple homework. Pieces like this bug me. Ermin has a great creative palate but this is a silly take.

Before ACC i was racing exclusively in Project Cars 2. ACC was undrivable at that time and AC lacked the player base that PC2 had during the peak of the pandemic. Livetrack 3.0 is still by far the most superior track weather simulation we have and the ability to form your own lobby to your lickings was what brought so many people together. Also the engine damage due to overheating is another thing i dearly miss from PC2. These are the 3 main things that ACC still lacks - proper track and weather simulation, engine damage and lobby/race customization on the spot. Most servers in ACC now are on sunny, clear day with average temps. There are extremely few ones which take place during night and even fewer during a rain or a thunderstorm. And certainly none with extreme heat wave of 45°C ambient and 60°C+ track temperature to make you adapt your setup AND driving style.

I really don’t care about career mode as much for AC2 I’m sure they will do it justice they have proved so as a Developer team. What I really care about is how they will find a way to help figure out that if someone lifts and causes a crash or is going too slow [black flag]. That they would be asked to retire to the pits. Each track needs a minimum lap time. A career mode would only be useful if it taught people how to really track rejoin safely and introduce penalties for unsafe re-entries. This alone would change the racing experience for AC and ACC that it lacks today. AC2 should have a more efficient. Also put some presets for different racing regulations on setup as an option. Like how cars in F1 aren’t allowed to bottom out a lot.

I was one of the two drivers in the white/blue/orange McLaren GT4 in 2019 in the real world. The thrill I had from getting to see myself in a game was awesome, the disappointment of how bad it was when it first came out was gutting. Stranger still was all the marketing hype around it at release especially from pro drivers, yet asking anyone inside of that GT4/Blancpain paddock about it and you'd hear how bad everyone thought it was. Glad its better now, but long ago I gave up on it and went back to iracing!

Switching to unreal was a good decision. Having your own in house engine is way too expensive and painful these days. Unreal can do everything they need and more. Their physics solver has nothing to do with the engine itself anyway, its a separate entity that runs on other threads. Unreal provides the source code, which means they have full access to modify the rendering engine as needed.

As long as damage is toooo forgiving in ACC won’t return. Crashing at very high speed into walls or cars and you can still race further without really consequence. In iRacing damage is more realistic (offcourse still not 100%) but waay more harsher like you hit a car or wall and your steering is gone, your aero is gone, bumpers gone, spoilers gone, handling & speed gone,….you must pit and repair the car which also takes a very long time rather then ACC 10-30 seconds repair, iracing takes much x minutes to repair

ACC still has many issues: changing the car's settings is a nightmare. Do you go for setting 1, 2, 3, or 4? No explanation what it means. You have to Google everything and it's never clear if the settings persist or not. It needs an "apply" button, not a "back" button to apply the settings... And I want to drive more types of cars than GT cars. But whatever for that last one I guess. But PLEASE update the Zandvoort track! The "new" track is amazing and the old one makes the game feel outdated.

I feel like Automobilista 2 is on a similar trajectory with ACC. It just get's better with every update and it already went from pretty underwhelming to pretty awesome in my opinion. It's already a strong contender to AC for the best variety sim in my mind and I believe it will claim that title sooner or later.

@@stephenwaltz-by7yu they are not very realistic until recent update a week or so ago. it felt too much sliding compared to iracing or ACC. but AMS2 now is amazing. it just needs a few more years to catch up. hopefully the community dont give on up AMS2

Ams is trash. You can compare it with forza. Nothing else. At this moment,Rfactor2,raceroom,iracing,acc are the best sims.

@@RST9413 Tell me you haven't tried AMS2 in the last 1-2 years without telling me you haven't tried AMS2 in the last 1-2 years. It's definitely getting there. It's still far from perfect (so is ACC), but they improved it so much and I'm so excited for the 1.6 update which should come with some massive improvements to physics yet again.

I'd encourage any racing fans to try it, if you haven't already. No going back to GT7 for me, ACC just feels so good and gritty. Also, if you've seen videos where the graphics don't look great (flat lighting, weird shadows, floating cars etc) then those are the PC version. The PS5 version looks amazing.

Is it still THAT bad? I play exclusively on VR and that's why I still mostly play iRacing. I love ACC, but the VR experience wasn't great when I gave it a try a couple of years ago. Is it worth giving it another shot or should I not even bother?

@@hansolo631 ACC making all other games obsolete? Lol, no. ACC would need plenty of other car series besides GT, and a Porsche Cup, and other tracks outside of SRO. A much more robust in-game multiplayer safety/skill scoring system as well.

To me what the sims don't nail is the electronics. ABS, ESP, traction control etc... that's why it won't translate at all to real life. Tbh somehow i can't drive hard, even in VR, nor drift in assetto corsa (well i have a g29 + shifter + handbrake it doesn't help). But irl in similar bends and drifts i do much better, always recover where on AC im in the wall, and carry so much more speed. Even when the road gets extremely rough but i still go hard, you feel the suspension, massive chassis and tire flex (crappy but reliable 82 hp fiesta from 2009). You feel under the accelerator pedal, even if it's drive by wire, when you break traction. You feel when you're going to hard and lifting/spinning 1 single wheel in a corner, activating ABS, overheating the breaks to the point it doesn't do anything anymore even the ABS gives up, you feel the ESP giving up when throwing it into a corner just to see the car's limit. So yeah "rallye" style driving is still so so far from being even good, one day maybe !

The truth is that ACC was NEVER bad, it has always been good to very good now it is just at an EPIC level that no other title even comes close! ACC is second to none! I worship as a GOD, all hail ACC!

Always appreciate your showmanship with things like the intro. I really wish Kunos weren't going to be doing GT2s. They've hinted at this DLC pack being a goodbye to ACC, and I think if you're not gonna be adding anymore content to a game, then you want your last release to be something that maximizes the longevity of the game. GT2s are not that. It's gonna be very similar to Ferrari Challenge, which the community doesn't seem to like. What would increase the longevity is a major track pack release. Just give us all the modern SRO tracks that aren't here yet. We still don't have Hockenhiem, Magny Cours, Sanoma, Sebring, Road America, VIR, and maybe NOLA. I think instead of GT2s they should have released a 2nd American track pack (Sanoma, Sebring, Road America) and then maybe given us hockenhiem for free. I would take the Nordschliefe over all of that though. I knoww they've said they're never gonna do it since it isn't SRO, but I could think of no better way to say goodbye than giving the fans what they've been asking for since day 1.

Biggest gripe with AC and Rennsport. Don't use Unreal, it's total ass for racing. Done. AC2 better be an in house engine or it'll fail.

My kids love the game too, because it is very easy to race and you don't have to be too careful on kerbs or beyond track limit. Even a hard crash won't stop you from continuing the race. They laugh at me, when I f* up my rFactor 2 race because of a drivers error or overracing my tires.

Funny, we have other gt3 driver here in YT saying that acc is, overall, terrible in some things, and here we have another driver saying the opposite, so, at the end of the day, will drive what I like, and acc is not on my list.

I am excited when ACC gets mod support like AC. AC with mods is basically GT on PC, where I can have a 1950-60 classic car drive alongside the most modern top of the line. I also respect modders for making simple commercial cars - like a Ford Focus and Toyota Prius - and rally cars. It really gives a wide range of selection of cars like GT.

AC was turned into the ultimate racing simulator for me thanks to mods. Mainstream studio racers will be catching up to it for a long time.

Just do LFM RF2, NLS is a blast and the cars feel much better, I'd recommend it highly!
