I once read a review where the reviewer described the performance as "dangerously happy music." This is dangerously happy music. People who want to bring us down would ban this and I'm grateful that they cannot.

Really I do too. It is a performance created with her ingenuity and all the musicians adroit skill of rhythm and swing. I had to play it again while Ernestine Anderson was in the night club. It offered more rhythmic energy and clear perception and melody inclusive to a live performance.

Who is the pianist, (musicians)? Ernestine Anderson was a Sun (song) bird swinging on “I think you made your mood too soon!” I wonder was this his and her drama after or during the fact, drama - made lyrical and composed by any number of composers but sung by the one and only Ernestine Anderson.

I noticed familiar folks in audience, like dee dee Rainbow, and who was THAT on piano wow, he really swings. I know the bass player Chuck Metcalf, the musicans did such a GREAT job for Enrestine and I wish I could KNOW who there are. Nothing in the credits except that it was produced by Gary Gibson...ok but HOW ABOUT those artists, playing their best????

This is fine, but nothing compared to the version she recorded with the Frank Capp - Nat Pierce Juggernaut (Big Band) live in 1997 on Concord.

Love Earnestine. The piano player is terrible.

Why do you say so?
@davidgadd572 жыл бұрын
@@videotra The comping has a very cliche groove and the turnarounds are terrible. The studio version with Monty Alexander swings throughout.
