Saw one of these at the ritzy guitar store in Yachats, Oregon. First time seeing a MM in person. They were jaw dropping. Just absolutely beautiful. It was ocean colored. Can’t stop thinking about it. Shame the trem is surface mount.

I feel like a crap without 24 frets...
@creepysherpa7481
@creepysherpa7481 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah but also in some situations, you would need to have a 24th Fret. For example, a very fast descending lick from the 24th fret down... basically any situation where you’re not able to bend, but you’re right... a lot of amazing guitar players have accomplished a lot with just 22 frets. It also depends on which genre you enjoy to play/listen to the most. If you want to play progressive metal... then 24 frets are essential. If you’re playing rock or just music that’s not as technical(or even music that is technical but you don’t need the 24th) then that will do it. Malmsteen was able to make it work...

@@ValSalva1337 There's a reason most guitarists stick to a particular setup to master. Whether that be a certain tuning or fret size / scale... types of wood ETC ETC. Your argument is essentially re learn or adapt, which In my mind is silly when you consider the options on the market today.

@@ValSalva1337 You're lost in a made-up maze of an unnecessary rhetoric that makes no sense. There's no reason to force yourself to play with 22 frets, no reason whatsoever, if you want more frets. It's not more difficult, or more virtuous, or any other quality that you assign to it.

Plek doesn't mean much. My Gibson SG was supposedly Plek'ed and it had absolutely the worst frets of any guitar I've ever played. The machine is only as good as its operator.

@@evanduquette Yeah, but every other manufacturer I've ever tried with a PLEK job (Suhr, Mayones, etc) have been perfect. Gibson also sucks at just about every aspect of guitar building as well. They can't really be used as an effective example of any manufacturing aspect. That being said, this guitar is overpriced in typical EBMM fashion. Beautiful instrument but overpriced. These should be $2,500.

$3200. Are you guys F in crazy. Why are guitars just getting way more expensive. It’s the same guitar guys. I love how they say it’s brand new,,, no it’s not. Just new colors. The country is broke,, and you put out a $3200 guitar. Lol. Wow. I’ll pass. Guitars over $2000 are just a waste IMO. I’d get a PRS if I’m gonna spend that much. Or 2 Jems. Or basically 2 of any other great builders. Sorry Music man your just getting greedy now. Come on.

there's always a market for high-end guitars. i think ernie ball is really doubling down on being a high-end guitar company. they have their budget line but they really seem to focus on the high end stuff which is smart- find your niche and own it as a company

Music man also uses really high quality material and a lot of it is USA sourced and built. Not to mention, the consistency and quality on every single one I've played suggests their QC is great and that you get what you pay for.

i generally agree with you. once you get past like $2500 it seems the tone and playability does not improve, just the rarity of the wood, hand-built etc. so for a great pro guitar, one should not have to go much higher than $2000 US new. but as long as the market exists for $5000+ guitars they'll keep making em. supply and demand. looks like the demand is still there currently

maybe if they did a solid color version. i bet that flame top is a considerable cost. i have a musicman cutlass rs that was $2200 most i've ever spent on a brand new guitar but there's nothing like it. worth it to have one REALLY great guitar i think. i'd rather have it than 4 $500 guitars
