1:42 to 2:11 is easily one of the best passages in a song that I've ever heard. Its hitting those beautiful minor 7 and suspended tones in just the right places compositionally. It genuinely draws emotion from me, this choked up feeling of hope, like things will get better if you just wait. In a genre of juvenile, shallow anger and uncreative, ugly "heavy" music, there is ultimately just one band I know of that is truly about something deeper and different. Aggressive head banging to all this massively powerful sounding music is good fun for sure, but euphoria can be an even more powerful feeling than anger, and as far as I know this is the only band that has that totally dialed in. Thank you, Erra, for existing.
