Madlib was heavily inspired by Jay Dee (Dilla) during the J88 series as Jay Dee (Dilla) was equally as inspired by Madlib's ability to also flip samples with an impeccable ear for music. That's why they were good friends.

Madlib been time stretching a lot you can hear it in the bass / low frequencies... an SP303 characteristic.

Dig. I purchased a bootleg of a mobbdeep burn One of the shook ones. Come to find out it was a dope front I used to download madlibshit. Fast forward a bit I than purchased a legit copy of Albert Einstein by mobb. Bought that album twice. It's March now 💀💀❤️

Madlib beats can sound like they were made by Dilla And same goes with some j Dilla beats. Two greats

When i heard this i swore it was Dilla, but Madlib makes sense.
@jacksonhalliwell76213 жыл бұрын
This is signature Madlib style, especially for 2000's era. Gritty, lo-fi and hazy textures, wobbly bassline (phaser?), slow tempo, simple and short loop and basic drums with an eclectic sample, creative adlibs cutting in and out of the drums, fat kicks, SP-303 time stretching and vinyl sim.
@djkone8411 жыл бұрын
Na it's from Madlib, and yes I looped it i said it in the description, so if there's a better release, just leave this page and go listen to the other version, no problem with that.

low bass and boost around 45-60k. although I was really fascinated with madlib bass lines, I think it just a high pass in around that range with the resonance cranked up on the sample.

Doesn't sound like Dilla at all. Madlib uses a lot more in the mid and high range. Kinda gives it that dirty feel with the samples.
