One thing about Cana using Fairy Glitter: I'm pretty sure Fairy Tail has previously shown that if you try to use magic beyond your mana capacity, you'll pass out. So, even though Mavis lent the spell to Cana, I'm pretty sure the reading was still based fully on her own magic power. At least, that's how it's always seemed to me, and it would make sense for the daughter of Gildarts to have a whole mess of magic potential, just not any spells (currently) to channel it through.

Yeah, I believe it’s just her magic type limiting her. If she wasn’t just using cards and tried using magic like her father’s, I believe she would have great affinity for it as well.

I wanted to say that if Erza had challenged 51 monsters she’d have still gotten the first place but she chose to go against 100 to flex on everyone, show her and Fairy Tail’s power and make sure Cana has a chance to win because Cana was 8th and would’ve had no monster to fight. Mest crying was pretty powerful for me when I first ran the series over. During the filler they showed his regret and failure at Tenrou Island and even here when they came back he was ashamed to even face them thinking about the implications that they went through by small part his fault. Even though it wasn’t his fault he felt responsible. So seeing them, Erza, accomplishing this like they moved on from those events gave him some relief and eased his guilt that they’re okay.

Erza and Cana both going as overboard as they can to put on a spectacle and winning over the crowd that's been putting them down for so long, putting the guild back into the running and living up to Natsu's declaration of repaying the loyalty of their friends who endured years of hardship due to their absence. She just doesn't age much. And don't worry, Laxus has his own moment. An epic one too. Edit: Well Cana is a candidate as next S class Wizard (with S Class being Erza, Mystogan, Laxus, and Mirajane) of Fairytail back in Tenrou Island. So...
