People need to stop caring too much about personal character of artists. Raja's character doesn't affect anyone outside his circle. His genius work is a treasure for everyone. And he needs to be recognized and rewarded rightly. His creative output is essentially his property. The audacity that corporates feel they can fleece him should be questioned. We seem to be impotent people that attack the unnecessary while letting politicians and vile players(rowdies) go scotfree.

From this interview, I can see how much Bosskey observed, loved Illaiyaraja and his music. He is focusing on minute details in illaiyaraja music and in the movie which should be appreciated. But too much sweet is not good for health. Appreciate his talent, music and just move on. Concentrate on your family and spend more time with your childrens and parents. This is more than important analyzing, thinking, listening to all the ilaiyaraja songs all the time and living in fool's paradise.

SPB mentioned several times that Iyarkai enum Ilaya Kani 1969, for Shaanthi Nilayam in MSV'S music he first had sung in Tamil, inspite the one before (2 years 1967) for Hotel Ramba had fallen through. Ayiram Nilave Vaa his second recorded song, but its film Adimai Pen was released couple months prior to Shaanthi Nilayam. Since then, a Norm as if ANV his first. NO. SPB has sung few very good songs for ARR, Kathalenum Therveluthy, Sollayo Solaikilli, absolutely mesmerizing; and for Vidyashagar, Mouname : Then we would get into MSV'S 50's, Senthamizh Naattu 1954, Koovaamal Koovum 1954, Inru Namatullame 1959, in between Yaar Antha Nilavu 1965, Kan Pona pokkile 1965, Naalai Namathe 1975, Ninaitthale Inikkum 1979. We have vast selections of songs to choose from his between 1952 _1986). He managed to give some decent numbers in the late 80's, in spite of his descending films. And we found the consolation since 1992, and there have been some good numbers from the likes of Harris Jeyaraj, Bharathwaj, J.V, GVP, Now Aniruth. So it's obvious a drought for good songs, few and far between. But going forward, films wouldn't require any songs in it.

The same thought ll come from every musicians music. Its the effect of music. I am big fan of IR. Also fan of others too. Coz music is universal. IR is genius. S.P.B. started his career as a playback singer in the Mid 60's, and debuted in Tamil by the greatest of all time MSV with the song Iyarkai Ennum Ilaya Kani 1969,and continued many songs in many and established one the prominent singers in VERY EARLY 70'S. During that, he had sung for many MDS, predominantly for MSV, and others being Vijayabaskar; V.Kumar K.V.M, S.G, T.R.Paappa; and very handful in Tamil for G.K.V. In 1970, he sang for S.G , the song called Kalyana Raamanukkum, but mostly for MSV. We have the collections of those songs in CDs, purchased 35 years ago. Those are the songs of SPB, mostly listened on our car while driving as we live in the world's most advanced country for FOUR decades. We have western and Hidustani, Classically well versed musical expertise around who are awed by those songs. SPB went on to sing for RD.BARMAN, LPiyarilal and become a much saught pand indian playback singer. His shooting early years of voice and songs are our favourite of all time. Of course, MSV'S 50's collections such as Vinnodum mukiloodum 1957, Thenral urangiya pothum 1958 and Many many of his.

@venkatraman2681 Iyarkai enum first recorded Tamil song, though A.N Vaa ( Adimai Pen) first released thus it gets the credit. As a matter a fact, what recorded first counts, irrespective of the release of the film. We don't keep up appearances with false or little informations of Tamil or world music, just for your information, as we are from Jaffna used to follow RadioCeylon. DOT.

Bosskey sir, why such hatred towards Rahman…as you said SPB sir mentioned there’s similarity on one note not fully…even Raja sir has inspired and in fact used some foreign songs in his composition..why don’t you talk about that? Example Enthan poovilum from muratukalai, the starting music was heavily inspired or copied in your language from Antonio Ruiz-Pipo's 'Cancione et Danza: 2. Pls search for the above song…like that there are very few I wouldn’t say many..everybody knows the greatness of Raja sir but that doesn’t mean you need to defame others.

Bosky please note nobody questions the musical acumen of Ilayaraja. But it is his attitude. When he was driven out from AVM recording studio, he was in streets and L V Prasad gave him asylum in his Prasad studios. When the successors of L V Prasad wanted the space back, the ruckus created by Raja is well known. Why did he not vacate the studio and why he went to Court, when he had his own recording theatre. This incident and his humiliating remarks about the greats like T M S and P Susheela were totally unwarranted. வித்தை வினயத்தை கொடுக்க வேண்டும் I have heard about the great Madurai Mani Iyer, who never hurt anybody in his career. Another great Madurai Somu is a person who is humility personified . Another thing. He cries foul about somebody using his work. What right he had to change the raga of the song " மரி மரி நின்னே" composed by Saint Thiagaraja. Similarly in a song in உன்னால் முடியும் தம்பி, he composed a song in the raga Poorna chandrika completely aligned with another Thiagaraja Swami composition. Answer me Bassky.

ஏ.ஆர். ரஹ்மான் போட்ட பந்தில் இளையராஜா ஆட்டம் இழந்து இரண்டு தசாப்தங்களாகிறது. இவரைப் போன்ற சிலதுகள் அவரை தூக்கி நிறுத்த 20 வருடங்களாக கங்கனம் கட்டி முயற்சித்தும் கொண்டுதான் இருக்கின்றன. 2000க்கு பின் பிறந்த தலைமுறை இளையராஜாவைக் கொண்டாடப் போவதில்லை. அனிருத் காலத்தில் ஏ.ஆர் ரஹ்மான்‌ கொண்டாடப்பட்டுக்கொண்டிருப்பார். எமது காலத்தில் நாம் ராஜாவை ரசித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கும்போது எமது முன்னைய தலைமுறை ராஜாவை கொண்டாடவில்லை. MSV யைக் கொண்டாடிக் கொண்டிருந்தது. மேகா என்ற ராஜாவின் இசையில் அண்மையில் வெளியான திரைப்படத்தில் "புத்தம் புது காலை" தவிர்த்து வேறு எந்தப் பாடலும் ஹிட் ஆகவில்லை. 1992 வரை இளையராஜா இசையின்‌ ராஜா தான். இப்போதும் அவருக்கு கூஜா தூக்கும் அளவுக்கு அவர் புதிய தலைமுறைக்கான இசையை வழங்கவில்லை. ஆட்டம் இழந்தால் அடுத்தவங்களை ஆட விட்டு மைதானத்தை விட்டு வெளியேற்றுவதே சிறந்த பண்பு.
