As a Swiss person, I can truly understand how awful it feels to come this close to the victory and then losing. It’s so hard…Felt exactly the same with Gjons Tears in 2021. We were so disappointed and to be honest, I thought we would never ever come this close to a victory again, because Switzerland has just been so unsuccessful at Eurovision. But look at us, 3 years later, we finally won again after 36 long years. I truly hope the same thing will happen to Croatia soon, you guys really deserve a victory so much! Fingers crossed and congratulation to your fantastic result and your amazing song this year🥳🙌🏻

Thank you very much for you kind words. It was hard to watch Switzerland getting all those 12s and I was hoping we could have enormous televote but it wasn't enough. We proved it that it's possible 😊hopefully other small countries get inspired as well 💯 you deserved to win as well after so many years!

No thanks, we can't and won't win if we don't send gender benders. Your crown is hollow, enjoy it, we don't care. We're very happy with popular vote win, jury votes mean 0 to us. We will absolutely never be favored by the jury because we're not woke, and don't plan on ever becoming.

It's the same situation as last year, you are right. We needed those points from the juries to be a bit higher. Finland this year... it was something 🤣

@@lemonstealinghorse I'd say it's a bit more complex than as it seems at first because of the political situation and all the drama that went down this year. I will talk about that more in my next video but I guess I can see why the televote might be angry at Switzerland winning

@@esc_victor08 Because Switzerland adopted a low stating they only recognise 2 genders, and what do you know, there's a "non binary" candidate pushed by jury and nobody but the jury. Come on. What is the role of a jury, to know better than the public? The jury is supposed to recognise what the public will like to listen, when their votes are at such a great mismatch from the public, they're just bad and need to be fired.

If its in zurich then the hallenstadion is around the corner where i live. You are welcome. Would be happy to meet you. I definitely will host someone next year who cant afford airbnb or hotel. But zurich is actually not worse in costs than tel aviv or malmö.

I soooo wanted Croatia to win the face off but... Probably Switzerland had the better song. I just dont like when juries go crazy for one entry. I feel like the result would've been different with Netherlands in the mix.

With the Netherlands in the mix, I think the margin would have been even higher for Switzerland. Netherlands got 58 points from the juries and would have got at least 200+ points by the televote, many of which would be taken from Croatia in my calculations.

Norway last is crazy but strong year... Uk zero too. I wasnt a fan of this song but you gotta give some respect. With how uneven the voting is, sometimes all it takes is one ally to give you 10-12 points in the semi or to skip a lot of places in the final

Norway almost failed to qualify and that's something I didn't expect at all. UK staging was just a lot. I think it was unnecessarily sexualized and that turned off a lot of people, all casual viewers from my surroundings completely disregarded the song because of the performance

The crowd erupting in applause when Ukraine took the lead gives me a serotonin boost But 2nd place is an AMAZING achievement nonetheless and honestly I'm happy the juries gave it 200+ and I'm glad a good person won in the end

Croatia won, 5th place got the trophy because of juries. 1997-2008 we ONLY had public votes, no juries. We need to return to that format, this is the 2nd year in a row where the winner was robbed. Finland 2023 and now Croatia 2024. Much love to Croatia, the people know the true winner ❤️

While I agree that the margin was big in the televote, I still believe we need the juries to some extent. Without them, we would get mostly songs like Finland, Estonia, Armenia etc... there wouldn't be diversity. I am a strong supporter of 60% televote 40% juries ratio.

@@esc_victor08 If you look back at those years with public only voting there was alot of diversity in genres and countries among winners for example Molitva (heartfelt powerballad), Hard Rock Hallelujah (Metal), Take me to your heaven (melodic pop) to name but a few. I think if the jury stays it should be at 30% at most.

I voted for Norway too, from Italy. The staging was sadly not even as good as it was in MGP, which isn't what you want when transitioning to Eurovision. But last place is shocking. As for Switzerland vs. Croatia I would've really liked for Croatia to win but I didn't like the song either, so I get why juries would go for Switzerland instead. Although the amount of 12points they gave to him was also unexpected. All in all I'm glad that the show went smoothly despite the many dramas and controversies, and that we got a new winner we haven't had for decades. Very upsetting that the Netherlands got disqualified over a small issue that could've been resolved in other ways. I'm expecting either Joost to participate again in 2025 or the Netherlands to withdraw in next year's contest.

Thanks for the in-depth comment. I agree that the Norwegian staging was a bit better in the NF but that result is not justified at all. The number of 12s Switzerland got is shocking considering there were other songs juries might have rewarded like France, Portugal etc. About the Netherlands... I dislike the song but disqualifying maybe wasn't the best solution. I totally agree with you. I expect him to come back if he would want to and he will be considered a fan favorite from the start. Withdrawing is also possible which is not good we're low in numbers already and if Switzerland will be as expensive as we expect, some smaller countries might give up as well...

Keiino would have done better for Norway but I'll disagree only because me, and many other people, wanted to see Norway doing something different and unique, reflective of Scandi countries. I expect Norway to turn back to sending Keiino and other pop artists after this tho...

Nah, it's the same as 2022 or Bulgaria 2021. Songs like that are just not appreciated by the masses. At least Portugal, Serbia and Slovenia managed to qualify.
