Yes!! So much great info, and perfect timing. I was just explaining this to some guys at the track, doesn’t always need to be set to kill. Much easier to handle on track when tuned/turned down some👍🏻

Awesome video, we have been running the Tekin 1900 motors since starting into 8th scale, and are now switching over to their ESCs as well over time... i need to get the programmer box soon. Cheers mister, hope your travels were good for the Moses Lake race, and also for whatever you're doing this week, happy Thanksgiving to you and the Mrs....

Thanks for the update , impressive that your running neutral width at 1 , but your remote must be super reliable most racers have a lot of drift in the throttle and steering and don't know it.

recently I changed my motor setup on my buggy , still love my RX8 gen3 , I changed from another brand 1900kv to a tekin 2050kv motor and the thing that impressed me the most beside more speed was how better the brakes where with my new teknin motor. Are you still running your deans style connector on your esc and batteries and how often do you change them ?
@AdamDrake Жыл бұрын
Yes, the Futaba T10PX radio is awesome. I do run a Dean's style connector and it works great.

Awesome video, Thank you Adam! Quick question, have you ever played with the ABS function of some of these radios? Curious what your thoughts on it were if you have?
@AdamDrake Жыл бұрын
Thank you! I don't use ABS because I've heard it hard on the servo and reduces the life.

Never realized there was some factor between brake strength and motor RPM. Guessing this is what the brake frequency setting is all about? Never changed it on mine but I've noticed my brakes are too strong coming down the front straight into the first turn, often endo'ing the buggy if the traction's too high, yet the brakes feel ok or a bit too weak in the corner entries elsewhere on the track. Also, wasn't expecting no-fan on your setup. I've always ran one on my ESC and never thought about it. Do you run one if it's a hot outdoor mid-summer event? As always, thanks Drake!

Brakes on ebuggy are locking the motor up. Its either locking it up or its not. Brake frequency controls how fast/wide those pulses are. So a lower frequency feels like more brake bite. I prefer kind of like Adam, low brake frequency so I can hold my car still at a stand still, balanced by lower brake EPA. I actually run 70% brake epa, which can be a little strong. So I balance that further with a strong brake expo so I can dip into the brakes to get a gentle stopping power or jab it all the way to emergency stop. Basically I just experiment until it feels more like the nitro disc brakes😀👍
@TyTekinCampbell Жыл бұрын
That is where you can use the RPM Brake setting. Set the brake strength so your high speed (end of the straight) brakes are how you like them and if they are too weak in slower sections, you can use RPM brake to increase brake strength only at those slower speeds.

Always run fan on… something to do with the Hotwire app… not being able to access… probably updated by now… I run HW anyways.

Nitro car is likely 8v or higher for most of your race from a 2S lipo. You running non-lipo in Nitro?
@eddiestaggs8966 Жыл бұрын
I asked if had a bec. Without a bec running lipo the voltage would be 8.4 fully charged.
@malATX Жыл бұрын
@@eddiestaggs8966 agreed. Its 8.4 at the start and around 7.8-8 at the end of a long main. I run the ebuggy at 8.2. but maybe using a Life pack
@eddiestaggs8966 Жыл бұрын
Do you run a bec on nitro? How are you limiting power to 7.4 volts?
@AdamDrake Жыл бұрын
No external BEC for nitro, just running it through the receiver.
@eddiestaggs8966 Жыл бұрын
@@AdamDrakewhat battery are uising? If run full lipo through receiver it should be at 8.4. Setting bec on esc to limit at 7.4 it would change servo feel. Maybe not enough to really notice.
@malATX Жыл бұрын
@@eddiestaggs8966i think it's just that the Tekin is limited to 7.4v unlike the HW which supports 8.4v.
@eddiestaggs8966 Жыл бұрын
@@malATX I think it is limited to 7.4 on the tekin esc.
