I've read the manga, Escanor did not stole his powers, he was an archangel, Gowther changed his memories for him to become a Demon, therefore loosing his magic, wich went to a random person, aka Escanor. + Even with sunshine, Zeldris would win the fight, unless its 12 o'clock, cause they become THE ONE.

I never realized how little i knew of the SDS characters and how little of the story was told until I started reading the manga...i feel you, i couldnt wait either...some people say theyd rather wait for the anime, and while watching anime only is dope, theres nothing like reading 30 chapters straight which is the equivalent to to about 7 episodes of information, especially if you waited till season 2 ended to read it like I did, you get like over a hundred chapters to read.
