Whan I was a child, my father had one of those he'd built as a teenager in the 30's in a big crate he built for it up in our attic. As a dopey child, I could not resist the temptation to poke holes in the covering. It was perversely satisfying, like popping packing puffs! Now, as an adult, and an avid RC'r myself, have a special affinity for this old plane. Love the 4 stroke as well. And yes, this was originally a FF design, and I still have his engine with the little spark plug and electronic components.

So very sad about your loss Rob. No woman can love you like a mother. I lost my dear ol' mum twelve years ago and it still hurts even today. She was 90 and had dementia. I join all your other army of followers and welcome you back. All of you are like fanily to me, after following your videos over the years. Any chance of ever doing a question/answer session, where people can tap into your vast knowledge of modelling, benefitting all of us. It would bring us your followers that bit more closer, l think it's called 'bonding.' Genuine 'Golden Oldie' (82 years young) the Midlands.

Very sorry for your loss of your mum. I enjoy your video's and I popped by to your flying area by the beach where the little train runs. I must admire your skills, although the shed is always looking a little messy and in need some of Santa's little helpers. 🎅🎅,incidentally during lockdown I also built a DW Storch, I dought anyone had built one before they sold the kits, as you also found things like the battery positioning was a real cockup., plus knowing what to do with the slats, which I left fixed closed ,and the undercarriage was hopeless. Years ago I built the 90inh Svenson kit, which was brilliant. Anyway keep your chin up and carry on the good work.

Found your channel not long ago......looking for reviews of The DW Eagle...... Binge watched many of your builds. Because of that, I'm now (at 59) back into balsa builds, re-living my teenage years. Then......You disappeared. Great to see you back and looking forward to new content. I have some understanding of what you have just been coping with and your absence is understandable. Lovely Maiden reallly. About the weight, I pictured my Technopower 5 or 7 up front to deal with the weight and balance. Perhaps a few inches more span? My last old time was an original Maxwell Basset Cardinal kit I got off ebay partially built. I converted it with a longer wing for slope soaring as I was living in Long Beach, California where right in town we had a 30' cliff facing the sea winds which were perfect for slope. hmmm excellent work. research indicates, however, that this was, originally, a free-flight model. if so, yer cad-version was, then, (probably) based on a conversion to rc, of a model that was Not designed for active controls.! evaluation of control sensitivity should be informed, by these facts. it may be that control surface area is excessive and/or throw needs to be reduced; in the linkage. the amount of dihedral is also a factor (in yaw-axis response). in a free-flight model, a bit More dihedral was used.! all these facts begin to suggest that the (conversion) model flew, ONCE. was 'repaired', and sold. this model looks like a cargo plane.! so, certain traits should be expected. this model is floaty, in part, because it has a huge wing. it may, therefore, be advantageous to tune the model's dom for the flying conditions; aka adding ballast at the c-m. distribution of mass; center of mass. it can be understood that, the span-wise dom of a constant chord wing WILL be less-than ideal, if there is no plan to Reduce/manage the amount of Mass (in the wing), towards the wingtips.!!! d googletranslate
