Good evening Sir! Your vest is so well organised and so it will make a good job for you. Very well done my friend! The last two days we had a severe sudden fall of temperature so we got the first snow up the mountains and strong winds causing heavy losses, but also huge rainfalls, especially in Lower Austria and Upper Austria many people are threatened by the rain and situation gets much worse til tuesday. Thank god we did not get that much in Carinthia but more than enough. Stay safe and all the best from Austria my friend!🇦🇹👍🤠🏕🔥

vest is awesome ... i have been playing around with fishing vests as a means to carry stuff, they all seem to suffer from small useless pockets but are comfy for long term use,

Fishing vest is an excellent alternative. I found a fishing vest in DPM recently. I might make into a survival vest for my vehicle.. and thnx for stopping in.

A respirator is a good item to pack not for social distancing but for contaminants in the air when shtf

Good breakdown Ivarr. Your mods are always next level. How do you find the chest rig layered over the vest with those packed pockets? Also, what strength of binos are you running? Nate
@Ivarr.Bergmann.Alaska2 ай бұрын
I was proving them as admin pockets when they grew to Dolly Parton size. With just a few items in them it totally manageable and of no consequence.. great question though! Thanks! My new ones are 10x28 from Vortex. Perfect size. Those Steiners are a bit too small and will freeze solid in the winter. So they've been replaced, I just havnt switched up yet..
@journeyman71892 ай бұрын
@@Ivarr.Bergmann.Alaska Dolly parton sized nice lol. I have a pair of vortex 8x42 but was looking for something more compact for scouting and such. Can't beat vortex warranty

Looks good and well thought out too. I've had a go at making one of these recently....used a vintage French F2 light jacket....just deciding whether or not to add extra pockets etc.

I miss your videos, Lass.. always so inspiring! Yeah vest can be the teets. I just need to use this over the winter and see how it does with layering up... So did you ever use the vest or you just made it and are now pondering?
@GillianSmith2 ай бұрын
@@Ivarr.Bergmann.Alaska I wore it up in the Rhinogydd mountains; used with Osprey ruck; worked well especially with zipper chest pockets as didn’t snag etc. dyed it black but it came out dark olive… thought I’d contrast with green or brown jacket/ trousers as want the camo effect for long distance as I’d be wearing it in the mountains. I like it. As you mentioned webbing can be too bulky and hot especially when packing in the miles, can wear these vests on their own also to prevent overheating.

That is really cool! I like the idea of a survival vest. I should look at cutting down one of my aftermarket flecktarn smocks or my Swiss m70 alpenflage smock. it could be expanded depending upon the circumstances with the clip on "backpack " 🤔 rather than dropping $250 , if I could even find one.
@Ivarr.Bergmann.Alaska2 ай бұрын
They're pretty common, just stupid prices..
@kriegshund64412 ай бұрын
I think I'd rather spend " stupid prices" on ammo. A quiet afternoon, a beer, a pair of scissors and an old smock i don't use is priceless!

Dumb question. What you use to sew your stuff, regular thread? Have you ever tried using braid fishing line or would that even work?
@Ivarr.Bergmann.Alaska2 ай бұрын
Never tried fishing live. I hear stories about SAS guys changing their button thread to fishing line but I think that was originally just because its nearly impossible to lose a button with that. Somehow it took on a life of its own regarding survival fishing.. Not a dumb question-As to my thread- I use heavy-duty interior/exterior buy a company called Coats. You can get it at Joanna fabrics.. Its tough stuff.. very very hard to break with you hand.
