You took a piece of me the day you went away No recollections, or the smell of your perfume I took a piece of you the day I left the womb Brother, put your needles down The best thing for you is to leave this awful town Pretty soon, you'll have kids to feed If you see mother, tell her I can sing Please don't worry, I am doing fine You're much too busy, to even find the time So use your chemicals and take this to your grave The boys you left are men you didn't raise And Daddy, how are you today? You must be proud of the boys that you have raised Your withered heart and everything it's seen Your cuts and callused hands you had kids to feed You had kids to feed Please don't worry, I am doing fine You're much too busy, to even find the time So use your chemicals and take this to your grave The boys you left are men you didn't raise

A safe place to cry since I was a kid. The amount I can relate to this is scary. Its ages like fine wine and becomes more relatable as the time goes on with every success, and failure I encounter as an adult. This, and foundation of Decay have been living in my head rent free lately, especially during the limbo phase of Mothers, and Father's Day. The air becomes a little harder to breathe, and i become more, and more introverted as the days count up to the climax of Father's Day. Fortunately, I have a beautiful soul to help me get through these hard times...but it's still so hard every year. I work retail and can barely look at the sections dedicated to 'them'. It's not easy to get over the trauma, neglect, and physical issues i still suffer from daily that prevent me from living my life, but every year's a little better. If you've been marked; hide it and try to do what you can to live a normal life. Keep living. Keep searching for ways to escape the fate.
