I get it now. When Clancy is first grabbed in the demo/first tape, he's taken to the basement to play with Jack. He survives, proving to Eveline he's a good candidate to be her brother. That's why momma takes him to eat food. To make Clancy a part of the family. Clancy escapes, and Evie lets Lucas punish him. The 21 game. Lucas isn't done after that so he does the birthday party room where he dies, thus being the burned body Ethan finds.

I like that the only reason the MC didn't die in that house was because of Clancy. If Clancy hadn't doom guyed his way through Nightmare, Sherlocked through the Bedroom, and played a bomb ass game of 21 against a cheater and won, then he never would have made it to the Happy Birthday puzzle, which means Ethan would have died there.

Mark, you probably won't see this due to the amount of comments you get a day, but I was wondering if you could possibly try the game modes Ethan Must Die, which is a gamemode where you start with a knife and you have to gather equipment and fight Marguiete in the greenhouse, and you also encounter alot of moulded along the way. Then there's Jack's 55th birthday, where you play as Mia and you have to kill the moulded and also collect food and wine or spices and feed it to Jack. (Thanks for making a lot of people happy.)

Hey Mark few tips here 1. If you block after applying the sploosh juice it allows you to heal faster 2. There are a total of 4 compactors so far the sooner you activate them the better 3. the knife is pretty effective if you get used to dancing around your enemies. (it sucks for the creepy crawly ones tho)

I know right, Ethan is so emotionless and only really reacts in frustration (like when he tells jack/"daddy" to stay dead) he only really reacts like a normal human if you skip the happy birthday tape and repeat what clancy did but as ethan. Clancy on the other hand freaks out like a normal human being.

Like in the original games, he doesn't have much of a voice and instead all the emotions the players have will be conveyed through him. He's made to be almost a blank state. Think Corrin/Robin from the Fire Emblem series, if you understand that.

Uhhhhhh, no. You get the handgun and knife from the Deputy, and Ethan made the Launcher and flamethrower. The only one that is even plausible is the shotgun, which I doubt because if Clancy made it then why is there. a puzzle in the main lobby if there wasnt a shotgun in the first place?

+Danielle Law Yeah, but when most people get kidnapped by horrible monster people and forced to fight their way out, they don't go through it with calm efficiency and the occasional snark. Personally, I'd be freaking out in a corner, but that wouldn't make for a very fun game (press A to cry harder!). Taking out Ethan's emotions didn't make him more likable, it made him harder to identify with.

These parts about Clancy's story before he got burned while running away are great. They really did a awesome job in writing the characters (both main and antagonists) and building the plot by adding the other characters' story and point of view and connecting every detail. Really a great game, whether or not it "fits" with the actual Resident Evil main saga.
