You are right. I passed on this watch because of the script makers name. A small logo is what is needed. I have a San Martin with script but the watch quality superseded the logo problem.

Use the logo on the head of the Khaki crown...and use THAT on the watch face.

I have several Tandorio watches, all the same design, based on the Unimatic U2. I love them! They are great value for the money. I think there are two things I would watch out for with their watches. The first would be to avoid the see-through case back. Get a solid case back. The second would be to take the case back off when you get the watch and check the rubber gasket. The last one I bought from them, When I took it apart the rubber gasket was way too big for the watch. It was so big that it could not have just been stretched, it was just the wrong size. This prevented it from even remotely going into the groove where it was meant to go. This watch certainly would have leaked if I put it in water. Luckily I had a spare gasket that was the right size. I wash my hands with the watches on all the time and have not had any issues. I have not swam with them though. I would be curious for you to put one of the Unimatic versions in Herman and see how it does.

This has been my experience with Tandorio as well. Not sure how much I would trust the water resistance even now, but I imagine it is much better.

I was able to remove the case back with a rubber ball on both of my Tandorios. So they just needed tightening.

that Escapement time is crazy. I put it side by side with my hamilton and it's nearly identical. crazy what he can do for $48. I, like many others, would be happy to pay an extra $20 for sapphire. I talked to him for a bit and asked him about that, he said no plans to upgrade to sapphire. but a white dial is in the works.

Then buy the very similar Militado with sapphire.....only a bit more in cost....all othe specs nearly identical. The Mititado in black dial, also has lumed numerals besides the "pips".

Escapement Time offer Type-A and Type-B flieger watches with a sterile dial (and simpler branding on the back case), decent lume, VH31 movement, sapphire crystal, 100M water resistance and 42mm case for less than the Tandorio.

Got the ET for a week or so now thanks to John's Watch Joint. The markers having straight lines is seen in Hamilton field. Love the two bars on the buckle. I can loop the strap back without having the end sticking up next to the watch face.

I’ve brought the escapement time one and just received it today and I’m over the moon with it, I love the VH31 movement for that sweep and accuracy! Great little tool watch! Only negative is I would rather pay an extra £20 for a sapphire version but apart from that it’s great! I’ve swapped the strap for a silicon one and fit’s lovely! It reminds me of the Hamilton khaki manual wind! But at least this one’s got 100m of water resistance well claimed anyway!

Fell in love with that black Tandorio the first time I saw it on AE. It’s truly the most beautiful (and almost unusable) watch I’ve seen in a while. I know exactly what the hands look like but it still takes a few seconds for me to figure out what the time is in every picture.

I bought the ET on impulse and am greatly enjoying it! Heard that they are going to do a white dial, will probably order that too. I would never wear a watch that I couldn’t even wash my hands in, just lunacy.

After few days of looking on this watch I order one today.I once had a Seiko 5 SNXS79 . after over a year of use, larger scratches appeared on the glass. I sold it. But you know what? This watch was very fun and comfortable. Now I miss that little watch I liked. maybe ET will replace it. I don't care about mineral glass and I hope this watch will be fun to wear! 😊

Pretty good values for both watches. It would be nice if Tandorio could add anti-reflective coatings to all of their watches. I'd probably get the Escapement Time, though (at this point) I'd would probably get their flieger-style watch. I'd really like to see the Baltany field chronograph (S5033) re-worked as a simple 40mm field watch (using a VH31), with slightly larger hour markers (and not adding any 24-hour markers). Baltany's current field chronograph certainly has beautiful lume. Baltany's other field watch designs are not as appealing. Militado (ML1868) and San Martin (SN0120) also make similar field chronographs, but requests to modify this design into a simple field watch haven't been successful.

I'd be worried about the Tandorio, I know it's a good price but water resistance is a must for me as we live in an extremely humid country and actually got moisture damage last summer inside a non resistant vintage watch just from the humid conditions. It's still nice though if you can keep it dry. As for ET? Great watches. Thanks Gary!!

That Tandorio was a Turd. I liked the look of the Escapement Time though. The use of Printing to create the Dodecagon, together with the Triangle Markers is a nice visual touch. I’d wear it to work and wouldn’t worry about knocking it about. If I spent £200 or more, I’d feel differently. The Scrolly Logo is the only thing stopping me from buying it. If they came up with a more Simplified Logo, I’d buy both. Although the Dress Watch is more in keeping I admit.

This is a watch review channel of course, and it makes sense to stay truthful though I wonder how long more would the water resistance test outcome for the 1-2 Tandorios will continue to be mentioned before more testing is done. It is on manufacturers to ensure that their products are up to standard, if they care to do so yet if they do and aren't afforded a chance to demonstrate this, then how up to date is the information presented here? Maybe we're not talking about large sums here so this doesn't matter.

I’ve got one Tandorio watch 36mm pilot/field watch I like the dimensions.I would not trust it in the water doubt I would get another same with one San Martin which I sold on and one steeldive which was ok but QC issues made me move it on

Yes, I'm wondering about quality comparison between Tandorio and Ipose Ix & Dao homage. From the video (and price listed) it seems like Ix & Dao is the better option... Also Ipose's version has date window at 6 o'clock (which isn't even present in ORIGINAL watch). So I expect there's a ghost date position in Tandorio, since it's also NH35. I've got this homage from Ix & Dao on my "observed" list and I think it's overall better proposition (and also I think there's already V2 or even V3 of this watch available). ET's watch looks like "Timex Weekender meets Hamilton Khaki", and it's a nice watch. What's the original homaged here? I'm not a big fan of quartz watches (unless it's a Casio, PRX or Grand Seiko), but I've always heard good things about meca quartz movements, so in my opinion it's worth the price they want for it.

My tandorio has none of the faults noted...including swimming. Smooth bezel action, accurate timekeeping waterproof....and CHEAP!!

Pass on both. The Escapement time branding script really clashes with the style of the watch, especially with a small face. Sterile dial would have been better. The Tandorio is not legible. Anyway on field and dive watches I prefer flat crystals. Less reflections and more minimalist.

I would avoid Tandorio as they are junk. If you want a good cheep watch, Pagani design is definitely worth looking at. Also you can get them wet and they won't implode.😁

You guys DO realize....don't you?...that sapphire shatters more easily than mineral crystal... and vice-versa...mineral scratches more easily but is more shatter-resistent. Best approach is to add a clear watch-protector vinyl....just about totally invisible...to a mineral glass...and get the best of both worlds. I've done this for many years now with no issues and it's almost totally invisible unless you look REAL hard. I buy 3 paks for about $3-4 and they are custom-cut to the diameter I specify. If they get bunged-up after a year or two....change them out. Incredible amount of hand-wringing about sapphire when all you are doing is trading off strengths and weaknesses....and also totally ignoring this possible fix. PS - - if this still bothers you....add few dollars and buy the nearly identical Hamilton Field Khaki-clone ( oh, excuse me...."homage") from Militado. Done.

I don't understand the logic of the buyers: almost everyone would prefer the Escapement Time watch with a sapphire crystal. Nevertheless, people buy the watch and send a signal to the manufacturer that they think it's okay if he downgrades to mineral glass. Then the seller will continue to use only inferior glass in the future if everyone buys anyway. Apparently, quantity counts more than quality for buyers these days.

I'd like to see if this one passes the test...the less invasive test maybe? And I have to say I'm not impressed by the Escapement Time. The branding looks out of place on this kind of watch and: boooooo to the mineral crystal! Make it $ 20 more and add a decent piece of sapphire like Baltany do!

Not to be a watch snob (I own and wear a couple of Tandorios that I scored for under 50 bucks...) but I don't get the Escapement Time and would get the OG Khaki mechanical from Hamilton over it everyday (I got mine for about 340, and even if its about 8 times the price it is definitely worth the stretch) I am not arguing with the design (I mean, tried and tested, the whole point of homages...) and I get that they're that cheap because they have quartz movements, but even that doesn't sit right with me when "escapement" is part of your name (and ye, they do have a couple of mechanical watches, but the value proposition is not quite there on those) so, all in all, not a fan.
