Escapement Time have made a very good watch that sold in massive numbers for a good reason even better. The domed crystal just adds something that has been missing on the previous model, and the fact that the watch case is slimmer now makes it sit on the wrist nicely. I can see why they went with the short hour hand to match up with the inner dial circle. But viewed in isolation the hour hand is way to small. Either they will not do a Type A or it'll just look disproportionate on it. Nice review! 👍

It would be perfect if they made this with a NH35 (I know it would be a bit thicker, no problem) which is much more easily and cheaply replaced and got rid of the screw-down crown which frankly is a PITA since I have a rotation and every time I pick this one up I'm literally wearing down the crown tube (have a bunch of 100m watches which push-down crowns and never had a problem). In my currency this V2 costs almost double the price, and that's because of the PT5000 which is an unproven movement, unlike the NH35.

So excited to get this watch ordered it this week, after looking at Archimede, Laco, Stowa I didnt think I would ever be able to get a flieger, only problem is I brought the Type -B dial and the Type -A is really growing on me also

It's a cool watch for sure, but I'm trying to exercise restraint! However, I did buy Escapement Time's "King Seiko" homage and based on that experience I'd definitely buy another ET watch. Their QC seems to be excellent, and the value they're offering is undeniable. _LOTS_ of watch for your $, with effectively no "quality lottery" & that's a winning proposition. You could argue they're the coolest brand on AliExpress. Thanks for the review!

WOW...the difference between the 39mm and 40mm is amazingly BIG, I wasnt expecting that I am having second thoughts now,I knew it will be bigger than the 39mm but not that big,Nice review,it has open my eyes lol

@@EscapeWheel It looks like all the PT5000-based fliegers on Ali Express have a 49 mm lug-to-lug. That's too large for me. Yep, Laco uses the low-end Miyota (8000 series) on their $410 model, which isn't great. Laco also has 40 mm case quartz. Overall I think it's preferable to the $410 model, at only 9mm(!) in thickness, better accuracy, and $320, with a lug-to-lug of 47.5 mm, which my narrow wrist can handle better than Escapement Time's 49 mm lug-to-lug.

You're pretending to care about whether a watch is swiss or Chinese and you don't even know that the flieger watch was a German watch and not a Swiss watch.
