Our Boat
2008 Beneteau 49
3 cabin 2 head
4JH4-TE
Westerbeke generator
Mast, sails and rig are in excellent condition and in storage
Here's what we think we know about her past. Keep in mind we bought her at auction without ever meeting the owner! The owner was sailing along and ran aground - hard. Hard enough that the keel pivoted and pushed the aft end up into the hull. This force cracked the internal grid in several places and broke a portion of the grid free from hull. At some point an inspection was done, insurance was called and decisions were made. See • We Buy a SALVAGE SAILB... for how we came to own her!

I appreciate your attention to detail practicing your take offs while traveling. I was an aircraft mechanic for 21 years spending many hours on the tarmac testing engines. It brought back many fond memories. Interesting so, a few month ago I graduated with a B.S. Degree in Digital Cinematography and am getting ready to launch my own KZbin channel creating movie shorts. Hey guys: great great videos!!! very informative and for all of us who allready are working on a project or maybe looking into one it's great to see how you're taking a broken delaminated hull to a cruising vessel!!!! I would just have one question: do you have chartering in mind when your boat is ready for sailing? My question pertains to the size of this sailboat and don't get me wrong, from experience I know a boat is always to big at dock (think expenses and maintenance fees) but always too small at sea but 49 feet is mighty big for two...... thanks for your work

Also, will the recent Covid-19 uptake put him out of work again?

Utterly off-topic, re: Flight Simulator Training. So, once, years ago, I was sitting at EWR waiting on my flight to Boston, and two pilots were fixing to deadhead up to Boston on the same flight I was taking, and they were talking about their training. One explained that he was having some troubles getting qualified for "the jets" because he was having troubles with the landings. (I presume these were TurboProp pilots.) Anyway, you really don't want to tell the flying public you're having troubles with landings. I mean, you can't take off, fine. I'll drive. But once we're up in the air, I'm really counting on your being able to, you know, *ace* the landing. Happy training. I can't wait to see how the boat goes back together.

I think you're right on the types of possible aircraft. I'm thinking he's flying for a cargo feeder outfit. One that people use to build hours before getting qualified for an actual airline. Right now I don't know of any commuter airline that would allow you to have a man bun or beard for that matter. Only those that don't fly passengers can get away with what the airlines call "reduced grooming standards".
@chad1755
@chad1755 3 жыл бұрын
I don't think it would be a Caravan as singles don't need autofeather. And the 60kts would be the airspeed alive call, not rotating at 60kts, so that doesn't really give anything away there. I'm going with a Beech 1900, or Dash-8. But I don't think we even know if he's flying airlines or corporate, so it could also be a King Air of some variety.
@jeffb1269
@jeffb1269 3 жыл бұрын
if the 60 call is like my 80 call its the abort for anything call after 80 till v1 we only abort for engine failure, fire, loss of directional control or we think it won't fly (some other red or yellow message...) but there was also a 'safe altitude' call which was new to me, we call 1000' for second segment climb profile, so it doesn't really sound/feel airline-ish but who knows...
