In America religious freedom is held above ALL other laws, unfortunately. Many churches and isolated religious communities look the other way when in it comes to pedophilia. It should be the opposite.

I was a JW. SHUNNED at 16, I went through hell for almost 2 years while homeless. Many yrs later, now in my 30s, I'm a happy wife and mother and have been healing from the manipulation and brainwash. There were times where I didn't think id make it, but I'm so glad I didn't give up and held on through it all, because NOW, I couldn't imagine having a better, happier life ❤ I want y'all to know it's worth it, YOU'RE WORTH IT, DON'T GIVE UP , ITS POSSIBLE! ❤️

@rainbowfranklin thank you! And I am sorry that your grandmother was changed by them. I hope it wasn't too bad, for yalls relationship and you didn't lose that special bond with her. Having known how they feel about death and paradise, she will have believed that she was just going to sleep for a nap, and that when she wakes up, there will be paradise. It will have been something she likely looked forward to in her last moments and it may have brought her comfort. I only tell you this hoping it brings you comfort, to know what they taught her ..much love ❤️

The lock-and-key analogy to polygamy is just great. You just have to add the little detail that behind every lock there is a person in bondage, or more likely, a whole family in bondage. The person with the master key is not keeping the people behind the doors safe, he is keeping them for his private use.

I didn't grow up in a cult HOWEVER this girls story of leaving and her parents conversations after she left with her and what the father said to the siblings..... mirrors my experience soo closely it's eerie.... How her father turned her family against her.... it's sad how I can closely relate to her. I left in a taxi, I left with bare minimum, I hid from my stepfather at friends houses and I was told I "turned my back on the family" My counselor says I mirror a vult survivor and I've always felt uncomfortable with that. I felt it took away from the real cult survivors. But man I am so shaky right now because I feel like a soul sister to this girl. I was beat, I was made to raise my siblings, I was made to do manual labor that was too hard for my body, I was forced to do serious physical labor for punishment..... I'm shaking 🥺😭😭😭 I'm glad she found healing and if she ever sees this. You can message me if you want a friend. It's very isolating going through that, most people don't understand the trauma.

I’m so glad escaping polygamy saved so many lives… I do hope one day you do interviews about the abuse within escaping polygamy. Amanda Rae talks quite a bit about it on her channel and I think it’s an important piece to some victims stories - leaving an abusive cult and falling to hands of an abusive “savior” is a very dark truth for a lot of people fleeing high demand organizations.

Its so amazing that she is going into law enforcement to help people, I was watching an interview with one of the social workers or whatever who was one of the first into the FLDS compound in Texas. How many errors they made because they had no idea what they were walking into. It took Elissa Wall sitting them down and explaining everything. Having someone they can contact easily will really help future people try to get out or even just get help. Its really scary that lifeline was still helping abuse order kids only a couple of years ago, although that person and Priscilla have contacted them to let them know the reality

My childhood was nowhere near as horrific but so many of the same things happened- eating out of the trash, social isolation, anorexia, being "betrothed" as a child, only allowable friends are siblings, child labor, working constantly, being complicit in the abuse of siblings, the relief and hope they'll just forget you when they lock you up somewhere. Narcissistic parents and fundamentalist religion, every time. My mother literally filled the master closet (these are enormous in Texas- the size of a bedroom anywhere else) with unopened toys no-one was allowed to touch with the pretext they'd be Christmas gifts "someday". I haven't seen her in almost 20 years, they're probably still there. I think my parents have forgotten I ever existed, thankfully.

Michelle you are so brave and strong, I hope you learn about all the ways you help others that don’t include policing. The harm they cause is insurmountable. The strength and voice you have can help in so many ways that policing cannot. Thank you for sharing your story and using your voice for good.

I left fundamentalist mormonism (AUB) after 23 years of marriage (2nd wife). I can do relate to the strength and courage Michelle had to have to leave. She just wanted to be "good". Leaving would be just the opposite, and there is such confusion and heartbreak in the decision to walk away and still feel like you are a "good" person.

Had to come back to hear the second part of her story. I'm sorry for what she went through, nobody deserves it. Michelle, you're one of the few soon to be cops i can support 100% because you understand.

I'm sending a billion hugs to both of you lovely, strong, brave ladies. You are truly HEROS. I didn't grow up in a cult, but I did grow up in a very manipulative, abusive home. Head game, physical abuse.. all of it. I remember wanting to unalive myself in elementary school. I'm happy you got out. You being your own validation is so liberating. Let the healing begin beautiful soul.

Michelle.....i have watched every interview youve done, i think. You have grown so tremendously from just the first interviews i saw you do on amandas channel to this. Its amazing to see you come out of your shell and get to know what an awesome person you are! I truly feel a sense of pride that we share a name and initials, however silly that is. 😂 You are truly inspiring, brave, well spoken, wise beyond your years, and so caring and kind. I find myself so excited for your children for the life they get to live, with such an awesome mama!!!! You will make an incredible police officer, how amazing that you will get to provide love and compassion and protection for those who need it. Thanks for being so willing to share. While your story is absolutely heartbreaking and gut wrenching, there is such a beauty that comes from knowing you were able to break the cycle. Im thrilled to see where you take things and what changes you make!!! You and your family (cousins) have already done so much by teaching and sharing with others to raise awareness. And so we can all get to know you and love your hearts and strength!!! A billion hoorahs for you, you are such a beautiful person and I actually find myself tearing up knowing what opportunities are there for you all and how far youve already come and where youre going. Shalise said it so well, You are a badass!!!! And your last quote was so true and inspiring, what a wise young lady you are!! 💜💜💜💜💜

Unbelievable what you Michelle and so many of your family had to endure. Your mother had to fast while she had a new born child, that is so bad. And all the beating. How strong you are. Michelle I wish you and your children all the best🍀🍀🍀 take care 🤗

Michelle, you are a survivor. Stop the guilt of accountability about your childhood. You had no choice, no options and were forced to go into self preservation mode aka surviving. I’ll pray for your siblings still living under the orders control

Possibly, but police aren't always great at working with local social workers. Depending on where she's living, she realistically may be more effective being directly in the ranks of the police.

Michelle is so strong for escaping this abuse. It breaks my heart that she feels she abused her siblings when she was also a victim in that situation. I completely understand her guilt, but she was forced into that position. It's so awful Listening to how she wants to better the world filled my heart. I'm amazed.
