Received several feet of snow in Oregon over the last few days making travel very difficult especially to get into the back country so I decided to escape the snow and head to the Oregon coast where I was greeted with warm sunny weather.

I camped several times on the Oregon coast and it has to be one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world. My favorite campsite was near Bandon and watching the sea lions on the rocks was awesome!

Here in Oregon if you live along the I-5 corridor you are literally 1-2 hours drive from both the beach and mountain forests at 7,000 ft elevation. I live a couple hours drive south and west of Jason and absolutely love the area I live. I’m less than 15 minutes from being up in the mtns or 90 minutes from the coast. Best of both worlds

I used to live on the Coast and do miss it but now I live in Central Oregon Cascades. Living beyond the city with few services it is up to the neighborhood to keep driveways and access roads clear. While you were at the beach I spent 7 hours a day with snow blower maintaining access. Just the cost of living in paradise. l agree thumbs up to ODOT, utility workers, and others that provide service to others during incumbent weather, they all do a great job!

This was an eventful but rewarding trip. Another Colorado Low heading our way this morning on the prairies for another 10-20 cms of snow (which is different than coastal snow as our only accumulates over the course of the entire winter, running out of places to put the stuff now). Sure appreciate your thankful spirit wherever you go. Great to see the benefits of the Snomaster and dual battery system hard at work, awesome.

@@la8974 Yep, in Oregon, a gas station attendant pumps gas. The legislature put in some protectionist law in order to spur on employment, by banning people from pumping their own gas. New Jersey has a similar law. It seems weird to outsiders, but likewise, I'm sure pumping your own gas seems weird to Oregonians and people from New Jersey. Still, it's funny seeing a proven self-reliant dude like Jason or Oregon Mike or Coyote Works, let someone else pump their gas for them. The vicissitudes of of time and geography seem to always want to keep us all guessing, and on our toes.

@@la8974 No idea, as I don't live in Oregon or New Jersey. I was just as surprised as you were, when I first heard about it. It is an interesting case and incidence of federalism though, so I dson't think there is anything wrong with it. It is separate sovereign states deciding what they want to do, and that is how our Federal Constitutional Republic was intended to function. Looking at some gas prices site online, it said that Oregon's prices are just shy of 50 cents over the national average. Though that varies too, as usually in the mountains, no matter where you are, prices are higher than easier to get to locals.

Was just experiencing what can only be Astoria, Oregon coastal weather (growing up in this overcast, drizzle, rain squalls, high winds, regrowing my duck fingers !) here in SanFran (600 miles geomagnetic deviation). Friend in Reno is experiencing what would then be Vancouver, BC weather. So you in Central/Eastern Oregon would be having British Columbia/Yukon territories weather. Screwy times and weather happening.

Hey Jason, love your videos & photography. I've actually been a 'silent' follower for a little over a year now. Got a couple questions re: this video - do you carry any extra gas cans with you? You mentioned previously that the F250 isn't particularly good on gas, and I was wondering if you ever traveled with extra in case you got stuck somewhere. Also, when you air down the truck, do you also air down the trailer? Lastly, i'm in love with both of your dogs! They add so much character to your videos!

Hah hah! Don't say you don't get snow on the Oregon Coast. Before that last storm, very slushy in Ashland, I drove to the coast. From the cameras it looked like Wolf Creek was bad but by the time I got there it was bladed and they had sprayed the secret sauce. I-5 was wet, no ice or snow. The next day I drove from Bandon to Newport on the 101. Twenty miles north of Bandon I was driving in 6 inches of snow. I still had my studded tires on. Some poor person in a Kia Soul was trying to drive in my tracks and was barely able to make it up the grade. This snow area was only for a few miles. I've learned to never follow anybody closely that is sliding around.

Myself and you may be twins Jason.I have a 80l ac/dc fridge deepfreeze chest by Unique(canadian I believe). I also have a Norcold fridge/freezer in my Tag camper. I was curious how long I could run the 80L fridge/freezer on an Odyssey AMG battery straight without charging and I got about 40 hours with one side a fridge and the other side freezer. I had a Yeti once and hated it because I took it out and also took out my coleman extreme 100 dollar cooler and the coleman beat the yeti. I took the Yeti back to Cabelas and don't regret it at all. What batteries are you using for your house batteries? I'm switching out my deep cycle for two 6volts. Awesome vid by the way.
