Thank you guys so much for all the support on the last video!! Today we are taking a look at Verruckt, the second map ever made for COD Zombies. There are a lot of interesting rooms the player never gets to see as well as a secret hidden beneath the map.

So the MG42 under the fountain I believe is a reference to the original Verruckt where they had planned to let players somehow use it but it never made it into the final map so they just hid it under the fountain. I think in the WAW version you can still use it.

it belonged to the mission you played but due to porting it into a zombies map they never bothered to remove it due to errors long ago and they knew unless you had cheats on you wouldn't be able to reach outside for it

I always thought that it was under there because they were going to make the ground area another play area but ended up deciding to just keep you out

I’m the WAW version if you got near the fountain you’ll be able to use it right from the fountain

the barrier at 2:30 is a clip brush intended to stop zombies from walking through the fountain, all models in the game have no collisions

The most interesting aspect of this for me is WAW textures in the room left of Speed Cola which confirm that the chronicles maps were in fact direct ports from BO1 and touched up rather than completely remade from the ground up like most people assumed. I always wondered if that was the case since one of the Shangri la teasers for BO3 still had the M14 wallbuy instead of the RK4/Shiva

I feel like the reason there's a mg42 lore-wise is because all the other Marines except for Dempsey died, that could a been a final stand situation while John Banana was telling Dempsey to leave the asylum. **DEEP LORE**

@@NEXTKINGDOM14 Actually it wasn't, Dempsey was captured by group 935 and two of the other marines died, that being John Banana and Smokey. The fourth one, Paxton I believe his name is, is the one that managed to escape back to the US. Just a little Zombies trivia for you there.

the metal boxes are morgue fridges, used to slow down decomposition. the MG in WaW (not sure about black ops) was usable if you were able to get outside, I’m assuming they just didn’t remove it or left it in as a little easter egg or homage, and the map was also used as a MP map on WaW (i think it may have just been called asylum?? i can’t remember 100%), and yeah it was also used in the campaign great videos, was on a watching spree and thought i’d leave a comment after hearing you ask the comments what the boxes were called, you deserve more subs, you’re incredibly interesting and straight to the point (a lot of these zombies youtubers now are fluent in yapanese), here’s to your channel, hopefully it blows up!

The mg42 has been there since World at War used to be able to glitch out through the wall run through the middle of a map and actually use it

IDK if you still see comments on here; verruckt was going to have a deployable turrey system based on the campaign turrets. The deployable BAR is probably related to out of bounds turrets. I bet that deploying a stationary turret on verruckt wasn't very fun anyway lol

Outside verrukt in bo1 has a ton more solid ground outside the map and you can go right through the fountain too, weird you can literally walk to the very edge of the land in bo1 I guess they thought that was unnecessary and removed all that collision when remaking verrukt for chronicles, im editting this cuz I just saw the gate part, in bo 1 the 935 isn't there and the gate is also opened all of that is also solid I assume same goes for waw

That big string of numbers is a date - June 24th 1938, which is the Chicora meteor incident, when a massive meteor exploded over Chicora, Pennsylvania. I'm guessing Zombies tried to hint that that was an Element 115 meteor, which would give America its own 115 supply for research. Apparently the meteor was big enough that, had it hit Pennsylvania, bye-bye Pennsylvania. If that had happened, I can imagine it being an important zombie outbreak in America - entire state taken out by a 115 meteor.

that big complicated cut area behind power supposedly WAS going to be a new playable area for chronicles Verrukt. There has been rumors for a long time that there was going to be a pack a punch added to the map but treyarch cut it

waw had loads of cool stuff out the map like guns and dev cubes and a MG42 gun under the fountain what you could use there was also more detail out side the map of the building it waw had all the cool stuff

5:50 the MG has to be a reference to the fact that the WAW fountain had a bipod MG that you can take control of if you managed to get outside the map.

12:50 the space behind power is left over from the WAW campaign map. its interesting how much of the original campaign map actually made its way into BO3. what they have seemed to have done is pulled the BSP (map geometry) through all the games and just retextured it and increased poly count in some areas because when doing asset rips a lot of the assets still identify themselves as T3 which is the engine identifier from WAW. i believe BO3 is T7 so obviously not part of the same group of files at all. Most of the map connections are just rooms that were removed from the original campaign map to make it more fit as a survival map.

WaW you can mod the activation to make the turret rise and fire. It’s a trap, I have footage of it working.

so that balcony on the roof was used in WaW for the 3 german soldier's (2 MG-43 Soldier's and 1 Panzer soldier) would shoot at you but the balcony was used to make it kinda hard to kill them with your rifle or SMG.
