Automower Answers: What Is the "Weather Timer" & Can Automower Tell If It Is Raining?

What exactly is the "Weather Timer" feature? Does it tell the mower that it is raining and it needs to go back home? In this video we answer these 2 common questions. Many people are unsure of not only what the weather timer feature is, but even more confused about how it works. Thanks for explaining the weathertimer. I was wondering if the smarthome plug-in with IFTTT isn’t the function that will park the mower when it’s heavily raining? Do you have any experience with that?

I use the IFTTT function, although I'll say that "heavily" doesn't seem to weigh into its decisions. It just stops anytime it is raining almost any amount. My other annoyance (well, I guess the first thing isn't an annoyance, just an observation) is that it seems to override manual commands to park, etc.

Regarding the function to automatically go park when it's raining: It can be set up in the app of you connect to IFTTT to receive bad weather triggers which will make it go home. But this is insufficiently explained in the official marketing copy.

Is there anything related to the weather timer and the weather data from your area? I thought I read somewhere it looked at the weather forecast.

You might be thinking of the IF This Than That.... App that can work with Automower Connect. So for example, with that you could say if they are calling for rain park the Automower or something to that extent.

The weather timer is a function in the machine and sensory input to it is time/work done and resistance for the cutting disc. The automower does not use forecast. But as they wrote, other tools can use forecasts to command the automower via AMC to go out and cut or go to park. But those are just commands and the automower itself is oblivious to why it's given those orders.

The weather time is a good feature to have because it takes the guess work out of trying to figure out how often your Automower should go out to mow. The weather timer feature lets the Automower decide on its own when it NEEDS to mow.

So is it worth activating the weather timer if I have the automower set to run on a schedule? Or is it only worth activating if you have it running 24/7?

The weather timer feature will work with mowers that are operating on an owner set schedule.

@@EshlemaniaTV So I'm still a bit confused. Should we schedule a 24/7 mowing time, and the mower will only mow as needed, or if we schedule certain days for a certain length of time, the Weather Timer will determine if the grass conditions dictate the mower going longer or shorter than scheduled?

Can i mount a second battery in mi 430x 2018. And turn it in to a 450x? Will that work?

Nope. If you plug a second battery into it you will get a battery error message and the mower will not work
