This walk begins by choosing a parking location upon hard knott pass before climbing to the top of the pass and beginning the ascent of the first Wainwright of the day Hard Knott.. This only takes around 30 minutes from the top of the pass which also has potential for parking.. This to date has been my favourite fell of the series, beautiful views looking at some of the most magnificent fells the lakes has to offer.. Steps are then retraced to the pass before reascending opposite to Harter Fell... A short decent follows before an extremely boggy walk over to Green Crag to complete the bagging.

Thanks for the kind words.. it was my first time in the area.. like I said it's so near to englands tallest mountain that this particular area is often a second thought to most people 🙂

Another class video, Dave, brilliant clear blue skies. Thigh deep bog can be scary, had that in the Mournes once and had to turn back otherwise I'd still be there. Lovely to see an area we drove through. Your walk through bits were super too, takes time to set up but you're perfecting it. Regards, Ashley

Thanks lad, I really appreciate it.. That was kind of my first time there, felt remote but Id imagine it would be pretty daunting in misty weather. Oo Id love to get over there and tackle some of them 2000m+ peaks you guys have got :)

Excellent video, Dave! That route up Hard Knott is a tough one. You had great conditions - it was so still, which is rare, the views from the summit are indeed spectacular. I've not Hard Knott from that path before, but I will the next time I'm up there. That's a great shot of you at 13:35! Keep 'em coming.

Thanks Mal. When I eventually do my first wild camp it will be either rannerdale knotts or hard knott.. fell in love with it and so easy to get to, well if ur a confident driver I suppose. 🙂

@@daveostlemountainman Rannerdale is a great fell to start wild camping on, Dave. Free parking, 20 mins up, spoilt for choice on pitching, brilliant views. Go for it.

I’m planning to do those three on Sunday, although I’ll park at the top of Hardknott Pass, do a quick run up and down Hardknott, then figure out the best way to tackle Harter then out and back to Green Crag! Is it boggy whichever way you go from Harter Fell across to Green Crag?

Hi Dave. I've only done Harter Fell out of those three. I keep putting off Green Crag for the reason of the bog, you hear so much about it. Think I will wait until we've had a really dry spell to tick it off, so it might have to wait until next year at this rate! Haha

Theres a less boggy out and back route from a farm to green crag I believe which I'd reccomend.. starts a bit lower down the pass

Yea was perfect for technically still winter.. id still probably should have saved this one for summer, maybe would have reduced some of the bog effect in the area :)
