Please do pump it! I'm mind blown at the vocal algorithm these guys have realized they can make. You touched on it a bit in this video regarding the lead singers ability to be both perfectly poppy and metal core at seemingly a whim. I believe the band figured this out about 6 or 7 songs ago and have been fine tuning it since. The videos are epic as well I love the 80's vibe coupled with the balls these dudes have.

Fun fact: The guys in the end of the video that just do that crazy dance off after "watching" the music video on the TV are actually all quite well known german KZbinrs/streamers that know the band (which is also from Germany) and were asked if they want to be in the music video. The bearded guy in the middle is Kalle Kochinsky, who I believe actually made a subscription special out of the whole thing ^^ Also, I really love the way you analyzed the vocal layers and screams, never really noticed all the layering and diversity going on there! And i dont wish for them to end up in the last half of the voting list, just because their music is to experimental and extreme for the average viewer.

If you want to hear more of Nico's range, check out Hate/Love which was the first serious song/MV they released with him as a lead vocalist. Yes, he does still have a limited range, but the overall range he goes through is wider than in Hypa Hypa or We Got The Moves. Also in the collab they had with the lead dancer at the end of Hypa Hypa, Kalle Koschinsky, "Castrop X Spandau" he goes much higher than here. Looking forward to when you catch up to and give us the breakdown on Pump It. Perhaps in 2023 since it dropped on the 3rd of this month? (I joke)

When you were talking about dial up and you said "I'm allowed to mention it because I'm 1,003 years old" I instantly pictured vampire Julia 😂❤️ It most definitely resembles the wonder sounds of dial up, but they call it a pig squeal in metal vocals and can definitely be done with an unmodified (artificially) human voice. A well trained one that is.

Just for additional info this section at 10:40 is called a BREAKDOWN in this genre or subgenre of metal. Basically what you would call a beat drop in most edm or pop songs. It's usually the climax and the heaviest/part of the song where the tempo and rhythm goes intensely 180 to the rest of the whole song :D

The dancers in the last part are a group of german KZbinrs and Streamers from Berlins disctrict Spandau around HandOfBlood (who featured as MC Thunder in the music videos to Eskimo Callboys songs "MC Thunder" and "MC Thunder 2 (Dancing Like a Ninja)"). This song doubled as a 200k subscriber special for Kalle (who was the first one of the dance group to be shown in this video), which is a reason the groups collaborated on this music video. They've recently worked together again and produced a song for Kalles channel called Castrop X Spandau, which, even though it is in german and filled with inside jokes and memes, I think you would definitely enjoy looking at a lot! Eskimo Callboy also recently announced their application to the Eurovision Song Contest!

I'm so stoked, seeing them in Germany next year. I've been listening for almost ten years to them and they're great. Especially live, shit gets intense😂

All for Eskimo callboy but Julia, can we please talk about Landon tewers? Unbelievably underrated and under reacted to, be it his solo stuff or his stuff with the plot in you. Man just has a way of delivering emotion like no other, if you want specific suggestions let me know. Seriously as a singer myself, he’s in my top purely just on his delivery.

There is this one band from my town, they're called Artificial language, they have around 22 thousand monthly listeners on spotify, they're a progressive metal band, and i'd say they're really underrated and that you should give them a try. Plus I would like to see your opinion on them. One of their best songs is called Unself Portrait. Hope you see this👍

The guy in the yellow jacket isn't a vocalist, he isn't even a member of the band - he's a popular German streamer they brought into the vid for whatever reason.

Kevin (scream vocals) makes the sounds at the end actually himself (yes, also the pig squeel/dial up sound lol :D). They did not add it artificially. Oh, since everyone asks for the new video, did you know there is actually a live version of this song Hypa Hypa which they did for the Wacken World Wide Festival (unfortunately without crowd) here on YT? You should check the screams from Kevin there :) Take care

As monty Phyton used to say: and now for something completely different. Symphonic metal always gets a lot of attention in the "darker music". But there is a lot of goth music that starts out in electronic instead of metal. Perhaps fun to look at some of those for a change. I got some songs that quickly came up in my head. It's a mix of club tracks and ballads (because those just feel like there is more to say about the singing) kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5zWYaOEpLJ-eNU Faderhead - all black everything kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z57JpmaroK10eas Faderhead + chris harms - better kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqW4mmuaZal5Z7M Mono inc+VNV nation - boatman kzbin.info/www/bejne/pZTFfapqbrSlapY Mono inc + friends - children of the dark kzbin.info/www/bejne/qmTFnpyAadloqJI Ashbury heights + massive ego - one trick pony Covenant - bullet (Thought of this one in the end, so no direct youtube link to the clip)
