Thanks for your guild and explanations of each of the Trees. I have played ESO for about 3 Years, and am just learning about the game and its mechanics, and builds. You did a very good job of explaining each of the trees, and what they do, I have been trying for a long time to find something like this explanation, so that I can make a better build. Keep up the excellent work.

This is truly a superb CP guide. I'll be called a noob no doubt, but after leveling two characters to max I still simply couldn't grasp every complexity of this system. Thanks to this presentation, I understood for the first time just how CP and our chosen gear, jewelry and glyphs are far from being separate choices. Putting a ton of CP points into an area we have no other investment in otherwise can't play override, at least not in some cases. As in, if we have no healing reduction glyphs or any other gear on our character, putting a lot of points into something like Befoul isn't exactly helpful. That makes total sense, but I didn't truly take in that nuance. I have read the CP descriptions so carefully, listened to other videos on it and have re-speced a couple times to play around with differences made before on my characters, but just never noticed a huge change. Now I understand why. I feel so much more confident now about rearranging my points (and the gear to go along with them). I also love how to-the-point your guides are, neatly organized, visually timed to your speaking well, with engaging presentations on the screen. You don't ramble, you speak clearly, and everything moves at a good pace. I know that a lot of time and care goes into crafting videos like this, so thank you for putting these guides out here for the ESO community. One request: You brought up as an example that Piercing is a good area to put CP into if playing a Stam Warden, as one won't get Physical Penetration as a passive on this build. Please direct me to it if you already have another video on the topic, but can you talk about what characters have or don't have in regards to this type of passivity? I know that the information is out there somewhere in a succinct manner, but I'd really love to hear at least a high-level overview on the topic. I've watched and read a lot on the game, besides playing for a few thousand hours now, but I'm well-aware that I can never have too much knowledge. I always go through the passives a character has or doesn't have before creating it. However, ESO is great at being an enigmatic little beast to fully comprehend. :) It'd be nice to get more detail on these weaknesses and how to overcome them as much as possible. I wanted to gather this info before getting heavily into PVP, and you're good at explaining logically how PVE is similar or different in this type of regard, too. Thank you again!
@dottzgaming6 жыл бұрын
First of all thank you so much for the kind words, really appreciate it alot and im very glad my guides have been able to help you and explain it in a way that's easy for you to understand :) In regards to your question, a good place to check is a skill calculator like eso-skills.com/ , the UESP build editor or the ESO Wiki and take a look at the skill lines relevant to your class, your weapons and your armor. There you can get a good overview of what major/minor buffs/debuffs, passive and active are available to your class. You can then use that info to make decisions on how to organize your skill bars and plan CP accordingly. For example, Stamblade and Stamden both get Major Fracture from abilities, so they dont need to invest as heavily into piercing as others since they already have it baked into their skills. Or, for example, if you get high penetration from gear, you can focus on other areas with CP as well. It's all a balance and figuring out through what sources you want to get your stats from. Hopefully this answered your question!

Dottz Gaming This might sound like a stupid question but is there any reason why you wouldn't just wear all heavy armor?
@dottzgaming6 жыл бұрын
Passives. The light and medium armor passives favor a higher damage playstyle while heavy favors a more defensive/tanky style.
@colincuthbert36586 жыл бұрын
Dottz Gaming Ah! That explains a lot actually. Been working on my build for months and survivability is decent but could not figure out why I wasn't doing better damage. Thanks a ton for putting the time into making this. As someone just returning to the game the CP system is pretty confusing; it's very helpful knowing that it's more tailored to my specific build/play style than anything else which helped me save a lot of wasted points that I was only getting 2% or 3% out of.

However, some things are still confusing. I get you wanting to explain it all in a whole but I find myself having to filter through info that's irrelevant to my build. I have a healer who's backrow is frost (don't judge, it works well) so do I spend cp for just a healer build or do I half and half it between healer and damager? I find have some damage output between heal spells helps the battle. Especially frost which immobilizes most things.
@dottzgaming5 жыл бұрын
Well for that type of setup, once you place enough points in things like Elfborn and Blessed, you can gravitate towards other stars like Ele Expert to up your blockade damage 😁

I am a stamina dragonknight dd, currently cp 92. But compared to other players, my equipment and skill choices don't seem to be the best as I don't do as much damage and also die pretty quickly. I've actually put some (8 o 10?) skill points into health. Now I've put a few green champion points into all three, stamina, health and magicka recovery. Magicka because I use obsidian shard to heal. But to come to my question, what should I generally use to heal? I do also use potions but the cooldown is just way too long for me to rely only on them. On the other side, I often lack magicka to use obsidian shard often enough.

I just got to 160 when you were talking about elfborn you said it was worth putting Point into it when you have around 40 percent crit chance I was wondering how you get that as a tank I mean I know I'm early on and I'm just starting to put sets together but the recommended tanking sets are mostly HP not crit
@dottzgaming6 жыл бұрын
That's mainly from a dps perspective. Elfborn or precise strikes, depending if your heals come from stamina or magicka sources, is still worth pumping up as a tank since getting a critical heal can be the difference between life and death

Dottz Gaming one other thing when talking about Shadow Ward and you do it other times you say 'if your a tank or using a sword and board put points into it' I thought only tanks use sword & board but the way you worded it made it sound like also DPS use sword & board . is that a thing?
