Powerful Assault can also be proc by Trample, what can be pretty useful skill for offtank to generate that sweet sweet ultimate.

Yo Hyper, first of all let me say tysm for your videos! I pvp and tank in pve and your videos (both the tank specific ones and the more general ones like the status effect one) have helped me a lot to play the game better. I have 2 suggestions for videos which I personally would like to see so Ill put them here in case you are ever interested on doing any of them. 1) HM vet dungeon fights for the hardest dungeons. Similar to what you did with the most recent 4 dungeons but also for other hard dungeons like Coral Aerie or Stone Garden, going over mechs and such. 2) A selfish tank set guide. I mostly don't use selfish sets anymore but when I was starting and when I pug harder vet dungeons I use wretched vitality on my backbar or Roksa as monster set for example. I know you mostly especialize on optimal setups but the times i've seen newer tanks using leeching on very mobile bosses or bosses with no extra adds is sad (more even so than seeing them use leeching at least on situations where it helps them survive). I think most people just use that set as a selfish option even when it is not even good for such cases cause they dont even know what a "good selfish set" is. So maybe a list for selfish sets with the explicit message that "these sets should be dropped when the tank can handle himself on a fight in favor for non-selfish tank sets". I know some pvpers for example just want to clear stuff like vMoS for Balorgh but dont really care much to learn how to proper tank so I think there is an audience which would probably benefit from that (same as begginner tanks). I'm actually already planning on making a video about why Leeching is bad and why other sets such as Wretched Vitality or Senchal Defender are much better selfish sets. It's true that a lot of PvE players demonize selfish tank sets so as a result of this the only place where new players can find info about selfish tank sets are content creators who never touched any difficult content so they recommend stuff like Leeching or Battalion Defender etc. As for guides for harder dungeons, it's also on my list but far far down, I really would like to do it at some point but there are many more important topics I wanna cover first.

Not pertaining exactly to this video, but is running Spaulder a better alternative when going for a trifecta/ hm DLC dungeons vs Arch Druid? With/without a healer? Necro/DK tank for reference. Or is the major vuln from arch better than the damage increase from spaulder?

Spaulder and Archdruid are pretty close in terms of damage increase but since Archdruid doesn't lower your sustain I'd say it's better for trifectas

I'd honestly really like to see a video of sets that are at least slightly less meta. I don't have the dlc for most of these sets. Currently main templar and I'm running Lunar Bastion and Powerful Assault as my 5 pieces. I like Lunar Bastion, but I'm not opposed to replacing it if there's a set that doesn't clash terribly with the templar aesthetic. But I definitely feel like I should replace PA, as 9 times out of 10 the healer is also running it. Thought about olorime to replace one of them to go all in on the templars ground aoe spam.

Tanking sets are situational. Depending what content you're tanking and what kind of group you're tanking for will dictate what you need to be equipping. As a support role it's always good to be flexible in what you can bring to the table. If you're playing more casual or leaning more into role play for a Plar then you can probably get away with what you're doing atm but as much as the farm sucks it's worth doing.

It wouldn't be bad, you're losing access to running a weapon set on your frontbar but it isn't that big of a deal

So I went to check out and see what Xynode is putting out there. His builds, while great, are built around sustain and survivability for the tank. Those are really good things to have as a beginner tank. As you get more comfortable tanking, you will 100% want to evolve your sets into what you're seeing in the video here. A tank is a 'support', meaning we are there to help the dps kill stuff faster and stay alive while doing it. There's nothing toxic or elitist about the sets here, so I don't even know why you would go there. These are literally the best sets available to help dps survive and kill things faster

@@DarthJarJar501 What the logic is? "Arcanist's Domain" don't used by dd's and if you don't have tank\heal Arcanist, you don't have "Minor Courage". By the way DK and Nekro tanks, more popular than the others. And healers are warden... But thanks for an answer, don't know that.

@@SoulReaperTOBY scribing takes care of that buff as well now. Warding burst and it's variations can be used on any class and can provide the same buff

Most tanks now can also add it on a scribed skill or groups will designate one(or 2 depending on the fight) arc dds run zenas

TT vs LE which one is better for sorc tank in dungeon?

TT is up to 6.4 damage increase when used perfectly and assuming no other Major Vuln sources LE is 4.2% damage increase and a very strong damage reduction below 50% HP I prefer LE, but both are viable

Essentially it's like dps gear. If it's a proc set you can 1 bar it. If it's a static set you have to double bar it. Meaning it has to be active when on either bar.

Saxheel works very well as a backbar set. Turning tide can also be used as a backbar set in a pinch, but it will require a lot of management from you and its uptime will suffer somewhat.

Ok, is there a single set that you can just run all the time? Sounded like every set is situational, not farming and carrying 5 sets… that’s is crazy alloy I don’t have.

So honestly, everyone has their individual play style.. if I'm tanking pve I like to sit on Alessian with mighty chudan.. then spend time theory crafting from there.. so find a set you like and work with it in combination.. and one quick point.. don't stress buffs and debuffs at first.. work them in a little at a time.

I find that the best all around set to run regardless of content is Tremorscale, Turning Tide and Powerful Assault. If you're with a group that you trust to bring proper penetration, then you can swap Tremorscale for Arch Druid or Encratis. But again, if I were to only run 1 set, it would be this

Saxhleel and turning tide or sax and powerful assault is solid combo that can be useful in all content. If you have to pick only two sets . I try to keep one trial set at least for the minor aegis buff they give. Arch druid for monster set is also solid.

Pearl/turning tide, with powerful assault on back bar. Use either puncturing remedy or void bash on the front bar. Run either a 2 piece monster set, or spaulder of ruin and a 1 piece monster with your choice of bonus, Magma incarnate is a good pairing.
