I get 2 nightblades timing their full combo on me while I'm Xing and they don't kill me. I'm wearing zero impen. To put it as simple as possible ill use rounded numbers. If they hit me for 2k dmg and have the max 125% crit dmg, they are not going to magically hit me for 10k+

I was looking at trying out my stamsorc again and one thing you haven't mentioned that really broke crit builds knees is the fact that medium armor DOES NOT even give crit chance anymore! Imo that put the final nail in the coffin for non-nb crit in pvp. There is no way to get a decent crit chance anymore without making sacrifices like you mentioned.. you need thief/shadow mundus.. you probably will need to run precise and slot camo or use crit pots.. it's just too much effort compared to slapping malacath on and getting crazy damage from it

I believe they made this change in order to set a balance. In a way its similar to how they didnt want a player to be able to tank 20+ ppl and still be able to nuked them all like a bomber. Med armour gives dmg as we all know and most heals are base on dmg so to have high crit chance means their healing power would go through the roof, leaving light armour close to worthless. Currently (in my opinion) I see light armour is squishy and their main advantages are dodge roll, crit chance, and penn. Medium i see are fairly tanky, high dmg, and no armour penalties. Heavy i see ALOT of tankyness and resource sustain. So I personally believe this was done to ensure there is no 1 clear way to build and to create diversity/creativity (again, just my opinion).

I was always thinking about the Crit Resistance if it is worth obtaining, all we can agree is unless they are completely making a crit build it is not worth having, but it will save you from being instantly killed when you are targeted by a glass canon one-shot Nightblade.

If u are squishy then yes, some crit resist is useful. If u are atleast fairly tanky then there are better things u could use. Think of it like this, a % of a small number is still a small number. But yes, if their hitting big numbers then that % is also a big number

I have 8,300wd fully buffed. 33% crit chance. 100% crit damage. 28k stam. 1,750 stam recov with rally. All on stamplar. I could have 9k+ wd easily but the eso build editor shows that if I spec into crit chance and crit damage, the theoretical wd is higher. Crit is not dead at all. Building into it is actually the best thing to do rn. Edit: on some classes. Stamplar, stamblade.

I would say that most of the time what kills me is chained crits. Unless you are outnumbered, crit leap, shalk, db, spectral bow, incap. Those are what kill me.

Also another thing to take into consideration zilla is how much more expensive break free, roll dodge and blocking is now! You almost have to drop impen or you will burn through everything so fast!

I remember when I played this game two years ago critical resistance was a must. Not everybody is playing critical builds but that was not the reason. The reason to go critical resistance is to not be one shot. Normal damage can be handled, one shots not. And for that reason you go critical resistance and not Normal armor.

To use rounded numbers: if someone hits me for 2k dmg and they have the max 125% (our new crit cap) they will not magically hit for 10k+. If i can lower the base dmg someone deals to me I am also lowering their crit dmg. So if a player is squishy, yes I recommend SOME crit resist but if they are fairly tanky I recommend other things like sturdy, well fit, divines, etc.

Well said. U can lead a horse to water but u can't make them drink lol. I stopped running impen when the armour trait was nerfed and started wearing reinforced on heavier pieces (body of course and sometimes helm, shoulder, legs, feet depending on armour weights and what i felt the build needed) and small pieces like belt and gloves I always recommend things like well fit, sturdy, divines, etc. Been playing my dk for a few years now (way before these dk buffs) and im open to constructive criticism if ur around for it but I do have a set im using that I don't want made public for a while because as usual someone will complain and it will get changed. I believe in a way that we could open each other's eyes to see things in a different way and come up with some out of the triangle ideas. Lmk what ya think

On light armor nirnhoned provides more mitigation than reinforced. If that's what ur wanting, but I want reduce cost of roll dodge or sturdy. But it's preference what you want On medium armor I believe the belt and hands are better with nirnhoned, but everything else is better with reinforced

It's all a meta for a reason. The more people run malacath and less impene, the more reward people get for speccing into crit damage modifiers, khajiit, shadow, mechanical acuity, etc.

But are proc sets critting? If someone has a 12.6% crit rate then their procs will also have a 12.6% crit rate.

With crit resistances being nerfed ever since the Greymore patch. I find it funny we have people suggesting to not run full impenetrable. The reinforced trait isn't all that great for medium armour but of course the well fitted trait is nice though. Laughing in cloak as the nightblades get garunteed crits. When you do crit not using malacath you will get hit so hard due to running no crit resistances. Proc damage sets critting oof oh boy. In context he still brings up great points and actual situations where people use malacath, also crit rate is so hard to come by with dagger and medium armour change. However in actual situations its all crit resistances except maybe reinforced on heavy head piece and or chest piece due to nightblades mainly but crits can still happen outside of a nightblade people can get 27 to 35 percent crit rate easily and do they hurt more than a non crit even at 3k crit resistances when the enemy crits they nearly double their damage as they sit at 50% crit damage bonus on adv stat sheet.

One build with high crit is calurion build and its it, everyone play in brawler or tank builds with low crit rate. Like cause of cloak guaranties crit crit res is ok vs nightblade but u gimping yourself against everyone else.

This is totally the wrong way to do it but, when I make a build I decide between well fitted and impen based on whether or not I can be arsed/can afford to gold out that piece of gear, because the difference between purple and gold for impen is minimal but for well fitted I'm gonna want the full 6% so I'll gold it.. Im sry to say this my friend and my intention is not to contradict you but to get the truth through. Resistance in itself is additive. When counting resistance into mitigation it is multiplicative. This does make a difference. I can provide you with the math. The video you refer to is also not 100% correct so you repeat the error in this case.

why ESo thought it was good to treat the word resistance like the "f" word. and not define it one way... i mean idk yearly bonus donated the next five years... to purchasing dictionaries so they can see the importance of defining a word and not leaving it as ambiguous as an f word. the day 50+1% go to cyrodil with out it is the day the night blade makes everyone remember why they ran it but until then optimize it till your alliance gets stopped by said night blades. its essentially the same outcome as a mid year mayhem event, once the masses play in to said night blade build strengths... thats the "meta" build. the joy of pvp is the meta on any given night can depend on what the opponent is running. there is no true "meta" its all conditional it all has a counter and tradeoff on said given day.
