This happened to me in 2008. I lost a lot of blood and had to have a blood transfusion. All I recall is I felt horrible, I instinctively knew something wasn't right and I was freezing cold and couldn't stand up. It's a good thing a friend was home to take me to the hospital, because calling 911 for some strange reason didn't occur to me. I almost died, and my blood pressure kept dropping while I was laying there with tubes up my nose and down my throat. As I kept blacking out, I remember the one doctor saying, " he's not going to make it." Well, I made it, and have been sober since June of 2015.

It's too bad that when the public hears the statement, "I have cirrhosis of the liver," they think you are an alcoholic. My husband has it and it was because of his diabetes. He needs the varices banding and so thank you for this informative video. I will watch many more to understand it. I wish my husband would get his head out of the sand and be willing to understand it, too.

my father just died last feb. 2020 because of ruptured GE varices.He vomited large amount of blood..I was so shocked. I thought I could only see that kind of scenario in movies..We were both covered with his blood..the room became red...We were actually in the hospital when that happened.. Everything was very sudden. He just got up and went to the toilet to cough and then the coughing didn't stop..the blood came out from his mouth and nose like running water in the faucet..The last words he said was "I can't breathe" (gasping for air...I can see to his eyes that he was so scared) then he fell in my arms unconsciously..even the nurses panicked...I and my mother was crying..The floor was like flooded with blood (literally...LOTS OF BLOOD😢😢)... Now, everytime I close my eyes, I can still remember that scenario that my father looked at me, spurting blood from his mouth and nose, gasping for air, fell in my arms..and died in arms...I Love Him so much😭😢

I just recently had internal GI bleeding and had the esophageal bands put in due to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. I've been home almost 2 weeks and can't hardly eat or drink much. I feel like all the food is getting stuck on the left side of my belly and feels heavy like a rock and really, really hurts and is extremely uncomfortable. Like a hiatal hernia

My injuries cause this to happen to me. accident. I had surgery done with a scope inserted front mouth their is little tools to operate and place a sew the band in place to sreageth open narrow path for swollen. I had it done at St Mary s Hospital in La vonia of Michigan.
