Solo Oryx in Destiny 2 - Mechanics Proof of Concept (Damage Is Way Off Though)

If you were curious about being able to block the bombs like in D1, here's the video for that. The damage is extremely far off and basically the thing that's holding this back, especially so for final stand if you somehow manage to reach that. You can get through the rest of the fight without too much of a problem though. Strategy here is similar to the D1 strategy, this time using the Titan Super Shield to block the bombs, instead of self res or a Sword. If you're interesting in the D1 strategy, a video can be seen here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pIe7g6amZ5erosU The big difference in D2 is the Ogres keep firing while enraged, which makes them a lot more dangerous to deal with now. Because of that I stuck with 3 bombs per phase, but ideally you'd get 4 per phase. It extends the damage window only a little bit more, but every bit counts. So right now it's quite a ways off, mainly due to the damage. The originally strategy hasn't changed much, outside of ways to survive the bombs, which I pleasantly surprised to see worked, instead of being a hard wipe like recent mechanics. I have no idea what happened after the third phase either, Oryx just stood there for about 30 seconds and everything spawned at once. "Enrage is near" came up in the phase before, so perhaps that was just a weird trigger or bug between them. Or the severs were having issues and simply lagged out at a weird time. Either way, it was strange to see. It would've been interesting to see how much further the run could have gone if not for that, or if enrage is just a hard wipe now. For now though, there needs be a better approach for damage, as it's way off where it needs to be - especially if it's ever made to final stand. Or just some ridiculous damage bug that pops up every so often.

Hey Eso, apparently you can damage Oryx’s right hand (the one near the ground) when he is damagable. You may be able to use the 1-2 punch trick with wormgod just like riven.

Considering placing a barricade and rally shield worked on blocking it, it's definitely a directional blast that can be negated by walls, so maybe a strat will come about where 3 titans place a triangle of barricades and ignore the explosion

Eso have you tried with reactive pulse? The over shield from finishing keeps you alive while allowing you to stay on arc for higher dps. Storm nades, overcharge well maker for easy FoM for storm chaser since you’ll be finishing ads before damage anyway. Imagine you’d be able to get tons more damage

My best theorycrafting for most dps for titan at that moment would be: (Aspects)Controlled demolition/Bastion (Fragments)Undermining, Exchange, Remnants(exchange to kill thrall and get weakening nade back immediately) (Grenade) Vortex Weapons: Touch of Malice any primary/special Stormchaser with Autoloading+Frenzy(only way to get +15 percent solo) Should be able to regen overshield faster than touch, get 10 stacks of charged with blight, swap to stormchaser, swap back and alt fire, then repeat. I dont know how much DPS that would do, but it seems like the highest output with least RNG with ammo and running out by the time Oryx goes immune. Maybe it works, and Happy hunting!

I think for dps, you’d have to wait for a season with busted mods like the linear/fusion dmg buff mod a couple seasons ago. That and pair it up with auto holster/vorpal combo weapons and whatever the most op super at the time is.

Yeah that's the only problem is that in d1 u didn't damage oryx, u just had to shoot him and the bombs did the work, so unless there was a like a glitch that came about that did stupid dps to oryx, I think this might be impossible
