Espire 2: A Pure Stealth Game, in VR! Congrats to Digital Lode

Congratulations to the ‪@EspireVR‬ team Digital Lode on the release of Espire 2 on the Meta Quest 2. It was great to work with the team and I look forward to trying out the final version of the game!

Got to play a demo of the game at PAX Aus this year, the game looks great. Unfortunate it's a Quest 2 exclusive, though. I'd love to see it on one of the platforms I played the original on. That being said, might still grab it just to show support for a local team.

It seems really awesome, but the exclusivity on Meta is a deal-killer. It's nice to look at though, and I can hold out a sliver of hope that the game will get released from exclusivity prison eventually

you're really missing out. I've hated Apple since the 80s, but I still buy iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks for my family. it's the best choice for them. I hate Facebook, haven't been on in 6 years. and I don't like Zuckerberg. but he is doing more for the VR industry than most

@@Zarven1 the Facebook account is no longer necessary. You need to create a separate Meta account (this is the same as SteamVR and Oculus previously, and next year Apple). You can't get around a login, but you don't need a Facebook account. EU would never put up with that shit. I knew they'd have to remove that restriction

That's cool you consulted on the AI, that makes me more interested! I love VR, I play weekly, but the first Espire game had noticeably weak AI (in my opinion) and it made the encounters way too easy and uninteresting. Still a fine enough game by VR indie standards, but not as good as it could've been. I was hoping they overhauled the AI but I hadn't heard one way or another if they had, so this is good news to me.

Eh, no matter what, vr still hasn't crossed that line that makes you think "I HAVE to try that in vr" let alone enough of those to own a vr headset. They all look like ", but in vr and worse"

while it's very impressive, i think vr games exclusive to one system is detrimental to the VR games market as a whole. It takes extra time, but exclusivity deals, just ensures less games for vr owners overall. And it's a real shame, since the game market still is arguably sparse
