It's rather true. If Kimmich doesn't face the Danish player but instead faces the goal and the Danish player runs into him it's not called off. In 2010 in South Africa there was Spain's winner goal by puyol, a header and it pique who blocked him free so puyol can reach the ball.

I'm German, I didn't like the game, I didn't like how the ref was permanently in the xenter of everything and I didn't like the VAR decissions. In my world we made the 1:0 after 4 minutes, Denmark tied, it wasn't a handball and I believe we had won anyways. But this VAR nonsense and a ref whistling off any single contact, at least for both equaly, I give him that but it's just awful to watch and has nothing to do with football.

The whole euros have been very unsightly, what you describe are correct decisions but based on new ref ruling line of UEFA they just give out yellow cards for any slight touches (a whole lot in the group stage) and penalties for unintentional hand out that’s borderline touching fingertips. It really looks like a wussy sports instead of a proper one on this euros

Bye Gabs! 😁 Again a relatively decent match by Germany. First to beat the Danes. Switzerland is not a surprise. You've seen how strong they are against a team like Germany. Italy lacked everything already in the group stage. Croatia should have been in their place but they had bad luck. To the VAR: yes it's hard for Denmark but if we use the technology then it was both off-side and a handball. Still need to convert the penalty plus it was still 0:0!! So stop whining if you are! Germany had now 3 goals disallowed, well, 4 but the last one by Wirtz was totally offside and didn't have to be played out. Still, no real threat coming from Denmark so all is deserved. You want to keep having Germany in this tournament.

As an England fan I don’t feel any confidence in Southgate to set the team up properly. as a german is strongly disagree on your handball take! yes the ball was shot on the hand but come on. you can clearly see that there was nothin he could do to move the hand out of the way due to the short distance and it was clearly no intention. Your offside take on the other hand is spot on. I dont get it why people cry about offside. I mean its a factual decision. rules are rules. it doesnt matter if its 1cm or 10m. I think offside and goal line technology are THE things for VAR. easy factual decisions. no room for interpretation.

Like is your arm spread away, could you have prevented the situation etc. There was nothin Anderson could have done differently. Yes it was a penalty but I bet every expert will say the same as me. It is a travesty that the euro brackets are organized the way they are with Spain France Portugal Germany and even Belgium all on one side😒🙄. It needs to be more like the nfl and have all the teams re-seeded after every round. On that note Germany should have played a best 3rd place team rather than a runner up as they were the second best group winner. Germany-Spain or France-Portugal could/should easily be a final in this edition, but as it’s slotted, the latest these ties could occur is in the QUARTERFINALS !!! Any of these pairings could easily make up the final, yet it’s unlikely that any squad from the other side of the bracket would make it through the “better” side. AND the same thing happened last edition with England being on one side and Spain Italy and France all being on the other. Smdh format needs to be changeddddd!!!! The close calls (Penalty and Offside Goals) were right desicions according to the rules. Even if its soooo close. But rules are rules. There are also other debateable situations: 1. Some fouls against Denmark (50:50 Foul desicions went against Denmark) 2. The 4th minute goal (there are referees who said they would'nt call this block by kimmich) 3. The moment when Sanè was fouled before the 2nd goal und Havertz wasnt able anymore to pass the ball to him

What is anderson supposed to do with his arm? he is lunging his body to block the cross? The distance is too short and quickly shot at him for him to have it amputated or tuck it away up his a*s in time, if defenders worried about giving a penalty away as much as michael oliver expects, denmark would ship 7 open play goals a game since they existed as a national team. If you only worry about being an obstacle, the entire danish defence will part for havertz to score, like moses and the red sea. Common sense is so common that its too obvious to be written, they dont tell everybody to jumpscare erikson in particular just for our entertainment because its just common sense. You cannot partially enforce rules in football. It is either a handball or it is not. If this situation had occured when a player was taking a shot at goal, it would be unfair to not give a penalty if it actually seemed like the ball was going to hit the back of the net. What if that cross, if not for the handling, had landed perfectly at the feet of a German player? You cannot say that a penalty is underserved if it is not an intentional or avoidable foul by a player.
