There's never been a player as complete as him and that's excelled at pretty much every aspect of the game for as long as he has with the success he has had. Zero flaws.

Yes,Suarez during his prime he was a monster and was arguably the BEST striker in the world when he was in his prime, but his prime was like what 4 years? Hey Lyes, wall of text here, but I hope you read it. I feel your analysis of Henry is quite off. If you think Henry doesn’t deserve 3rd, that’s totally fine, but you seem to be basing it on incorrect information, and falling for lazy narratives, which you claim to hate. So here’s my debunking of stuff you said, of course you can double check all my assertions. I agree with what you said about Neymar. People diminish what he actually did, just coz his achievements didn’t match the heights of his ability/talent. But you did the EXACT same thing with Henry. Henry was objectively GREAT for France, even if he was not quite the same dominating force for them. He was good in 98 as a young player (played 366 minutes). He was AMAZING in Euro 2000. He won motm 3 times that tournament, including the final (sometimes wrongly reported as Totti years later, but look at articles from 2000 or scroll further down on wikipedia, it was given to Henry). He scored the crucial equalizer in the semis vs Portugal. Zidane was of course great that tournie (stinker in the final tho), but Henry was also absolutely huge, and it gets played down for some reason with all of Zidane's PR. He was also good in 06, despite Zidane overshadowing him. Was good in the knockouts, again France’s best player in the final by a mile, and was in the team of the tournament. He also absolutely carried France to the 2003 confed cup, the only time France built around him - not the biggest trophy, but people rep Neymar's in 2013, so it's only fair. So Henry mostly played 2nd fiddle to Zidane, and the team setup was horrendous, but he was still great overall, was the 2nd best player of that golden gen. Sure, he had a couple disappointing tournaments (who doesn’t), but there’s a reason he won French POTY a record 5 times. His France career should be additive to his legacy, not a stick to beat him with. You can’t praise Dinho for Brazil, and then slate Henry for France. It doesn’t make sense. Also Zidane’s dominance is a little overstated because of his huge high moments and monstrous PR (Michael Cox has great writings on this). Same with the champions league. Henry had to carry Arsenal HARD from 02-06, and he did carry them to a CL final in 06. Neymar at least had prime Messi and Suarez next to him, or a state funded team with Mbappe. Most CL greats have always had all timer teammates who would bail them out if they had an off day. Henry didn't have that luxury at Arsenal. Bergkamp was old and didn’t even travel in Europe. The invincibles wasn't Arsenal's peak, it was Henry's peak. Arsenal peaked in 98-02. Most superstars don't have to endure the likes of Pascal Cygan or Senderos playing crucial CL games for his team. Messi, the goat himself, could not win with Barca unless he had all timers next to him (MSN, eto'o, Henry, Xavi, Iniesta). Henry at best had Vieira and a post ACL Pires. And he STILL had several iconic performances like vs Inter, Roma, Madrid, and Juve with Arsenal. He was poor vs Chelsea in the 04 QF, but other than that, when you watch full 90s, he was usually excellent in the CL. Of course every modern player, playing for a superteam with structured refined build up, will have superior stats. But just reading a statsheet is not a fair assessment of a performance imo. It's especially funny coz Henry literally announced himself as a world class talent through the CL with Monaco's semi final run in 97-98. Even his time at Barca, he was excellent In 08-09. He put in some monstrous performances like vs Real Madrid in the 6-2, vs Bayern and Lyon in the CL - and he was a big part of one of the best front 3s ever at the age of 32. Overall, I personally think Henry, like Neymar, is often misunderstood and underrated (not by ESPN lol). Largely because he spent his prime at Arsenal as opposed to a European superclub, France's dynamics being poor, among other reasons. People are quick to nitpick things about his career, standards which they do not apply to his peers. Henry consistently destroyed GOAT level defenders, from Zanetti to Cannavaro to Ferdinand to Ramos, at a level that has since only been bettered by Messi. Nobody could live with him 1v1 in his prime, he’s one of the best ball carriers of all time, he could score from his own half, had boundless flair, and he literally changed what it means to be a forward. There is nothing Henry lacked in terms of ability, he was a big part of multiple iconic teams, put up absurd numbers for that era, and he won EVERY major trophy. Neymar is more technically gifted, but Henry’s physicality is in another stratosphere. It’s fine to prefer Neymar/Dinho and think they're marginally better. But Henry at 3rd shouldn’t be treated as a scandal as some of the comments here suggest.

I think you're too harsh on Modric. You can debate he is better Xavi and Iniesta (I certainly do). But you think Neymar has a shout in for top 5 when he has done nothing in his career post Barcelona. He was put in a mega team in PSG and failed to deliver. Neymar is a great player, but Modric, who came into Real Madrid and is currently on 6 CL's. Who was the most pivotal player in some of those CL runs. Who created moments out of thin air (looking at that assist vs Chelsea).
