The thing that pisses me off is that the hypocrisy is so obvious. Canelo won this fight which was extremely close for doing what Triple G did in the first fight better: pressure. Triple G clearly won the first fight. Canelo didn’t win this fight if you judge by the same standards. THIS is the fight that should have been a draw. They wanted Canelo to win, plain and simple. And let’s not forget the fact that Triple G was the Champ, and you have to beat the Champ decisively to win, close matches are supposed to go to the Champ. This fact alone makes both of these fights but especially the first won a travesty.

Didn't buy the fight because I knew Canelo would be gifted the decision if it went 12 rounds. If anything, this fight should have been the draw and the previous fight given to GGG.
@PWNINSWAGMASTER6 жыл бұрын
Spencer Allbritton You cant blame the judges this time because team GGG were the ones who approved of them. It's not that they liked Canelo, it's that he worked harder and made asjustments. GGG made no intentional adjustments. I scored both fights in slow motion and GGG won 4 rounds undisputedly in both fights which is a clear sign that he made no adjustments. Canelo on the other hand went from winning 2 rounds undisputedly in the first fight to winning 5 rounds undisputedly in the rematch. Despite Byrd's score, it was close for the other 2 judges in the first fight. This time Byrd was out of the picture and GGG lost the favor of ALL the judges even though his team practically chose them this time. You have to stop being bias saying who liked who and just admit that the judges were being honest.
@basedstatement15795 жыл бұрын
You guys are fucking idiots, how do you win the sweet art of boxing without hitting any body shots? GGG was fast the first fight with no power, and got counterpunched into a draw. He stayed the same the second fight and Canelo just overwhelmed him with speed AND power, a credit to him cutting muscle mass.

I understand a draw, but a close decision should ALWAYS go to the champion. I respect Canelo he is a great fighter and a Mexican legend already, but he did not deserve to take GGG's belts. These people with the "oh stop it was close it wasn't a robbery" are dumbasses who don't know boxing history. Canelo did very well but you don't screw over an undefeated unified champion in one of the last fights of his career. If that was Mayweather who did exactly the same, we ALL KNOW the decision would have gone to Floyd unanimously.

Nope, you got robbed of your expectations. You wanted GGG to win, you wanted GGG to KO Canelo, you thought HE WOULD KO Canelo. Is my assessment wrong or is it spot on?
@cdb50016 жыл бұрын
Dub Line yeah pretty wrong actually. I was neutral in both fights and respect both men. Well I respected Canelo before he got busted for steroids. But watching both fights objectively, GGG easily won the first match. I mean easily. This match I also feel he won, but Canelo was outstanding as well. A draw would have been somewhat fair as well if you weighed in Canelo’s punishing body shots. But there is no question that GGG’s jab and command of the second half of that fight were effective. To have Canelo win this fight just shows how Golden Boy fixed it both times for their fighter. I love boxing and these men put on an incredible spectacle but the politics of the sport ruins things.
@PWNINSWAGMASTER6 жыл бұрын
Cd B You're blaming Golden Boy when they had nothing to do with judges scoring(ESPECIALLY in the rematch since Abel was the one who approved of them and even traded one), you're calling Clenbuterol a steroid even though it's not, and you dont know the real story behind that just like every other Canelo hater/GGG fan. Triple G lost both fights you must be a dumbass or you must be a Triple G fan for you to say that because Canelo clearly beat the crap out of Triple G that's why Canelo has the belts all of triple G's belts and he is the best middleweight in the world
@photographerjonathan6 жыл бұрын
GGG won this fight. But he got robbed. A close fight should always go to the champ. A challenger needs to take the belt from a champion. And that didn't happen in this fight. And even in the first half of the fight that had ggg backing up. Ggg was still in control and landing more punches. And the late rounds ggg dominated. The 12th round i need to see again. But i am sick of this kind of shit happening in boxing. Pacquiao had it happen with the Bradley fight. And its really unfair. These guys train way to hard and deserve better.

Canelo dominated the power punches ... triple ggg the jabs. If I was a fighter I rather dominate the power punches and body shots. Canelo started the combination triple ggg responded with a small jab then canelo finished the combination

A close fight should goto the champ, is ignorant. Champ does not automatically get the close rounds just because hes the champ....it doesnt work that way sorry bud. GGG was never in control of that fight, he used his jab to keep Canelo back, he should had used it more to set up a combo or straight right . Oh and total landed punches doesn't dictate who won. Period. Canelo controlled the pace, controller the center of ring, landed the cleaner harder and more power punches, effective pressure and better defense. And one more thing, close fights can not be robberies, that scoring 101, so clearly you're a casual fan who doesnt know how a fight is scored. The fight was very close where rounds could had went either way. Canelo won the fight and all you're whining and bitching won't change that

I'm surprised that so many people are surprised by the verdict . These judges were never going to award GGG the fight . Is boxing corrupt ? There's big money and people's careers involved - of course it's corrupt . The money men demanded a Canelo victory and that's exactly what they got . We move on .
@290raw6 жыл бұрын
ThefightingCelt who’s career is on the line? ggg is in his prime and probably one of the best boxers out there so Canelo loosing to him wouldn’t be all that bad and there would actually have been more money made of ggg would’ve one because odds where in favor of Canelo winning and if Canelo would’ve lost they could’ve marketed the 3rd fight as Canelo taking the crown off ggg and getting revenge on him
@darrylflinch52746 жыл бұрын
GGG didn't get robbed not in this fight. Yes, the first fight GGG did get robbed. Absolutely. I had GGG winning the first fight at 115-113. It felt like GGG team were surprised that Canelo (A counter puncher) was coming forward. If you know boxing most counter punchers are patient and wait for you to throw so they can counter. Wait for you to make a mistake so they can bank on your mistake. But this time Canelo kept coming forward which made GGG look like Canelo in the first fight. Though GGG did come strong in the late rounds it was a little too late because you should have been doing that from the beginning. GGG is naturally a bigger fighter but he was the one backpedaling this time. I had 115-113 Canelo. If I give round 12 to GGG then it would have been 114-114. I'm not sure what other round I can throw towards GGG when he started off backpedaling when he usually doesn't do that.
@ThefightingCelt6 жыл бұрын
The judge's ' careers . Many a judge has fallen foul of a major promoter because his score card didn't tally up with the expected result . More people benefited from Canelo not losing the fight . The first fight was a prime example of that corruption . The fact is that the judges could not give another draw , and unless GGG knocked Canelo out ( which was unlikely ) then it seemed obvious given the first fight verdict , that the Mexican would be given the nod . If the fight once more , expect the same result .

Not a flagrant robbery but, still, a robbery; you don’t take the champ’s belt away unless he is beaten, and GGG was not defeated. Boxing couldn’t afford to have their cash cow beaten, again(Canelo); plain and simple. A young champ is preferable to an old champ, a Mexican champ brings more money than a Kazakstan champ; simple economics. Tremendous performance by both of these incredible fighters, but the judges got it wrong, again. I’ve followed boxing since 1956; they robbed the Champ.
@juainott52816 жыл бұрын
It's not a robbery Man c'mon They selected the ref and judges as a ggg team petition and in a close fight everyone will say that the loser got robbed. It would be bad if it was obvious by a lot and the winner win by a lot, it wasn't the case here

1st Teddy Atlas is 100% right, I love boxing and haven't really been watching it due to the more frequent bad judging. Stephen A. would be pissed if his boy Floyd lost a "close" fight when he (and the real boxing community) knew he won. 2nd "YES" we as spectators should expect for perfection in all aspects of the sports: fighters, referee's, and the judges.

I'm not saying that weather or not Floyd won or not, I'm just applaud that he (Stephen A.) dismisses Teddy's' point of view of boxing integrity (which has diminished). When there so many lopsided decisions based mostly on corruption it doesn't seem fair to the boxer that's truly better. I would love to see something more extreme than a 6 month suspension for obvious bad card, but doubt that's going to happen. What Teddy was saying was that it happens on under-card fight were guys are trying to make a living. You spend time and money preparing for a bout, and to lose because of incompetence, or money... I believe we see it mostly on a grander scale because it doesn't affect us on a livelihood proportion (as the young boxer), whereas it does on a investment/finical (Consumer to pay-per view). I'm not advocating a boycott on boxing just a better level of professionalism from the judges, and explanation of how they came to there discussion should be mandatory regardless of the outcome. This would put the judges on the hot seat and raise the bar for the future.

It was a good fight. However, the previous result exhibited exactly what was going to happen. Last time GGG was the clear winner and it was judged a draw. GGG had to knock Canelo out to win any of these fights. SIMPLE. 36 yr old champion versus the 28 yr old challenger. Canelo has higher PPV ratings. In a close fight there was only going to be one winner $$$$$.

Cause the only thing the numbers give the GGG supporters is jabs, which sadly don't win fights, unless you're Mayweather. I don't see how that is a bad idea for anyone but you?
@thelastdragon32426 жыл бұрын
Much respect that you pegged GGG to win, having a Latin name. 143-116 (power punches) is not about equal, that's a huge difference. Alvarez threw less punches, but was more accurate, cut off the ring more, but landed more effectively, so what he couldn't get him on the ropes, the point is he landed more punches that counted. The whole purpose of the jab is to probe and set up power punches, he wasn't able to do much of that at all. The overall improved fighter was Canelo. The Mayweather thing wasn't comparing the two (GGG is an actual fighter), I'm saying Mayweather is the only guy scoring victories with mostly jabs and little pepper shots. In most fights that doesn't cut the mustard, or get you the victory.

Stephen A. was right about Teddy being emotional and of course exposed it. However, Teddy made some valuable points about the judge scoring and how effective it can be on Boxers. That could be why GGG simply just walked out of the ring after the decision because somewhere in his mind he had to of been frustrated that he didn't get at least 1 judge card. He probably felt that the match was rigged in hopes of a re-match knowing that had GGG won that there's no possibility of a GGG-Canelo III. He probably felt bad that after all the training he did he has to do it all over again and sacrifice his head just to earn a victory against Canelo in the record bookand the Title back. Now I know some would say we'll if GGG don't want to box against a threat like Canelo then why not go another route. Well it'll be tough to turn down the money he would earn in a triology. It wouldn't surprise me if he earns nearly the double of the first 2 combined depending on what venue they may go at it. I say Jerry Jones should seriously consider letting his stadium host that fight. So many would come out especially if they fight prior to football season. But Boxing is business and that's the tough part of BIG fights like these.
