The FA want a puppet, not a coach - that's why Southgate is their perfect choice. He does exactly what the higher-ups tell him to do, no questions asked. The same was when the dinosaur Roy Hodgson was in charge. The last decent coach to ever take the England job was Fabio Capello - and he quit, because he was sick and tired of the FA's meddling. Sacking Southgate will ultimately change nothing if the FA is not purged from top to bottom. They'll just pick up another gullible Joe Schmoe to do their bidding. And IMO England fans should direct their anger at them - boycott England games and stop buying the 'Three Lions' merch until the entire FA management resigns. Without a serious boycott the FA will learn absolutely NOTHING.
