Grasso is game. I’ll admit and she had a great second round. But shevchenko is the more talented fighter. Quicker accurate more technically sound w the trajectory of her punches. Grasso had real trouble getting inside. Grasso just did a great job tonight taking advantage of the rare moments that shevchenko gave her something to take.

I don't agree with the 10-8 round, but Valentina tries to point fight her way to winning belts. She tried to win against Nunes by point-fighting and now she wanted it to go to the judges for this 2nd fight with Grasso. When you leave it up to the judges, especially in a close fight, this can happen. Valentina should've fought for a finish like Grasso was doing, but Valentina wanted to play it safe. So although the 10-8 round was BS, judging the fight overall I can see it being a draw. Both fighters had their moments and put up a great fight.

I thought Valentina eked it out. She seemed more on assertive, more determined. But a terrific fight. No one, especially Shevchenko, tried to coast at all

So she lost because she broke her thumb (i know an english boxer who is mocked till this day because he broke his toe),and because it was Mexican indipendence day ( which was even worse than the thumb one) . She believed alexa's win was a fluke and she didn't need any change. Well and the end of the day, it was closer this time than the first one , she made the same mistakes and she got dropped aswell.And even after that, even after being asked if alexa was better this time than the first one, no appreciation for her opponent. Amanda accepted pena defeat, improved her conditioning and proved everybody that her victory was a fluke, Valentina didn't.

she actually changed quite a bit in her approach, and clearly "lost" because of that absurd 10-8. regardless of the broken thumb in the first she jabbed her face off with the same hand for the rest of the fight. fighters are also mocked mostly by idiots, so that does not hel your poor argument at all.

@@ivaolo 1) She jabbed her head off in the First fight too 2)judges don't count the jabs too much( look at Strickland vs cannonier, and the Strickland's ones were much more powerful than the Valentina's ) 3) She landed less strikes in this fight than in the first one(which was shorter) , instead her opponent improved the takedown defence and landed more 4) the 10-8 card is embarassing but it's not my point, She wanted to prove her victory was fluke but the she didn't, despite the scorecards the fight was close 5) for a fighter the thumb ecxuse Is embarassing, bisping won a title without an eye, McGregor beat holloway with a torn ACL and the Messican Indipendence day it's embarassing because if it was the reason all three judges would have given the only debetable round to Alexa but it didin't happen

I don’t think that last round was enough for Valentina to win, in my eyes both had their ups and downs, generally it was a draw.

@@awets23 Yeah i think that everything between 4-1 Shevchenko and 3-2 grasso (all 10-9) is ok, but in general it was very close. So grasso wasn't a fluke .

As someone said in another thread. This was like getting the right answer on a math question but the working out part was wrong. I'd have accepted a win either way. So draw it is. I wish there more of them tbh
