People who are usually true experts on stuff, are aware they no nothing 😂😂. Or there’s so much more they can learn. More than just a derby match in this case - the F.A. cup final was (and still is) pretty much the single biggest domestic match in English football, and that year it happened to be between two of the biggest local rivals in the country. It was the (very rough) equivalent of an interviewer 50 years from now bumping into Travis Kelce and asking if he remembered where he was for Superbowl LIV!

Sigh so many people still salty Chicago got the first pick. What would have been an actual tragedy was if he'd have gone to the toxic landfill that is Arizona to waste away as they continue trading everyone away to "rebuild" every season. That decades long rebuild will surely be done any day now.

Yep, better that he goes to Chicago and has a legit chance of getting S#xually Assulted by the staff. But he might have a chance to win a cup, so nobody will say anything. Don't want to mess that up, right?

Saw a guy coming out from a corner store in the morning a few years ago, familiar face, and he seesy Habs Jersey and he's like "Oh you're a fan?" And im like Hell Yeah dude, can't wair to bring back the cup! He answers to me something like "Ill make sure to make it happen" with a weird smile nd i started laughing (the polite moron laugh) as i walk in the store myself. Took me a few seconds, then it hit me, holy F*ck, that's Geoff Molson, ran back out of the store and he was already gone, never saw him again, but still a great memory

Nope. The interviewer is a local reporter who had no idea he was inerviewing a gm. He went to a bar to interview some people and a bunch of the gms were eating and having a few wobble pops there.

Honey, nobody does the each word as its own sentence thing anymore. And it's been just one space after punctuation since we left manual typewriters behind. Is there maybe a class you can take to get caught up to the 21st century?

A local television station once interviewed a Dutch Football players dad, without knowing he was his dad. The dad noticed because of the questions (“Did you hear[the news] from his parents? They live nearby right?”) and played along with it.😅

Love the dichotomy of GMs in professional sports. Especially in the NHL, a lot of them are former pros but in other sports, that's more rare. Some teams, you get the full on stats guys like Theo Epsteins, Kyle Davidsons and so on. Worked in the sport for years, sure... but never played at a high level. Then you have guys like Sakic, who won everything. Good stuff.
