Any immediate structural changes at Barcelona won't magically change Messi's stance. Bartomeu will leave, a new president will get elected and Xavi might be presented as new Barcelona manager, but none of this will affect Messi's decision. Redeveloping this team and rectifying the board's many missteps will take a long time, and Messi simply cannot afford patience at this stage of his career. He wants to challenge for CL titles and be part of a winning setup NOW. Barça won't be winning any CLs for at least another two-three years and it only makes sense for Messi to jump ship as soon as he can. City, Juventus or PSG will inevitably snatch him up and both Messi and Barcelona will get a chance to reinvent themselves.

Imagine he goes to Juve and joins Rolando or goes to PSG to become Neymar's daddy again. Bayern is buying young now he shouldn't go there. He can do Man City or Liverpool I think would be the best for for him. In Liverpool he will have to do no hard work will have free role in the midfield and I can see him linking well with Salah Mane Firmino and Naby Keita Minamino who are all technically gifted

man how can people say that letting him go is bad for the club? he's not been happy for at least 2 seasons now, he's making this clear every time he have te oportunity to say it. he has said that the directive board has no clue on what they are doing, he has said, tiem and time again, since the loss against roma, that they have no priject and that thay've been trying fixing problems on the fly. if you really love barca, as I do, you let Lio go. why? well first and foremost, because it's his right, because he deserve it for 20 years of service (and what a service) and secondly, because this is a time of economic crysis, and we've been in economic crysis since 2015, with failed signings and very low key sellings. If we would have let him go, we would've have at least 100 million for selling him, besides the relief of his salary (about 100 millions annually). Loving barca means wanting stability and a good image, not having players kidnapped

Barca stopped being competitive for quite a few years now. Since Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol, Guardiola left the club Messi was pretty much carrying the team. It was a one man show and at some times pretty hard to watch. Messi carrying the club to victories worked to some extend in La Lila but is not clearly not enough for CL. I cant see how this could change next season.

Phil Coutinho, Neymar, Thiago Alicantra, Greizmann, Dembele .. as an objective eye thats one heck of a project. If the president leaves, I stay .. there is alot of ambivelence. Is it Leo or the coaches or the people running the club? When Pep left I felt the senior players kinda drove him out ... he can say he wanted a new challenge but if you're winning everything .. why go? So that would be the first thing to resolve, find the agitators and move them on. But Leo has to be onboard with helping to mould the side into a team again.

Koeman should give ousmane another chance and develop ansu fati and the youth more which is one of the number 1 priorities, he should get memphis depay or christiano ronaldo as a new striker and get ndidi from leicester to replace busquets, they need to be way better with finances and stop making expensive short term transfers, this is defo messi's last dance with the chicago bulls barca, and its looking like its gonna be a pretty shitty last dance

With how much Messi pays his agent and lawyers, I’m absolutely shocked they wouldn’t advise him to get it in writing from the club that due to Covid-19 the grace period for Messi to state he was leaving would be extended until the actual end of the season. Even then maybe Bartomeu would still push him to legal action. Messi cares for Barca, Bartomeu just cares about the money

As a Chelsea fan I'm absolutely fine with him not coming to City. But I'm gutted as fan of football to see how such horrible short sighted mismanagement of an iconic club and player could lead to us having to witness such unfortunate events. No player is bigger than the Club...but this is a player whose blood, sweat, and tears created the modern day FC Barcelona. I'm not saying that they should of let him leave, rather they shouldn't of continued to make a series of blunders which were quite evident to even the most indifferent of Barcelona fans, such as myself.

Why doesn't anyone point out that one big reason why Messi didn't want to give formal notice before 10 June was because he did not want to disrupt the focus of the team and club during the still on-going title chase and UCL competition.
