To make a roll like this, there should be hip pads and thigh pads. This is a foldable kayak, these pads have to be detachable as well. Couldn't see how the modification is made inside the kayak in this video, since all under the spray skirt. I customized my hip pads for itiwit x500, this part worked. Also tried to customize a hip pads with a sculpture foam. Unfortunately when making a roll, the hip pads was broken in the middle due to the brutal force (after 1-2 successful roll). Any long standing design I could use on x500 for hip pads? I don't want to put an entire wood/plastic pad there. Inflatable ones?

In this video, the back side (where you could put in your air pump) was patched. It is a design modification. I guess it is to avoid water to get into the boat, when rolling? How severely could the water get in from there if no such a patch?

I took my X500 to a recent pool session to try rolling and self-rescue with it. I found it impossible to roll or even hip flick back up in its stock config. Adding yoga blocks for hip support and lowering the main chamber pressure seemed to help a bit but not enough. Noticed no leakage from the dry-bag style hatch at the rear though. I also tried a rear-deck self rescue (cowboy scramble rescue) and there I found that my weight on the rear submerged the hatch for long enough to flood the kayak a surprising amount. I don't think it will need fully patching to avoid this though - extending the rollable area of the hatch with duct tape or similar should be enough to make it watertight. I'll check that in a future pool session. So I suspect the hatch in this video was sealed for rear deck rescues rather than rolling.

Join a kayak club and learn with a whitewater kayak or sea kayak first. The X500 is way harder to roll. I'm still making mods and trying different techniques to try and pull it off.

Mouais... Qui est derrière ce compte ? Vos réponses sont un peu légères et engagent le sécurité de vos clients. J'ai utilisé un x500 de nombreuses fois, c'est un peu plus compliqué que d'écrire deux lignes sur KZbin quand on se renverse.
