Hii mam My event is long jump i want one tip ,While starting my run up what should be the foot distance . When i go near the ground my legs didnot beat the pefect jump .
@janaydeloachsoukup37036 жыл бұрын
Hi there, if I understand your correctly, then a typical runway distance is approximately 14-18 steps and whatever that distance is, will be your starting mark. However, it varies for each athlete depending a number of things, including height, stride length and even speed. You can get a good approach distance by starting your approach from the board and running the opposite direction. You stand with your jump foot on the board and run back 14 - 18 steps (mimicking a real runway approach) and have someone mark your final step. Hope that helps!!! Good luck!

Hello, I am a long and triple coach from Wisconsin and am in the midst of writing a book dedicated to the two jumps. This video would be one I'd be honored to include in the book if you'd be willing to allow it. The A skip and B skip drills are something I feel many are ignoring (especially at the high school level). The effects of these two drills (especially on triple jump for timing purposes) is immense. Would you be OK with me including this?

Try not to look down at the board...keep your head up all the way through the jump. Try to make the last two steps with flat feet - the step before and the step on the board. With the step on the board drive the free knee upwards to provide lift....good luck and enjoy.

Hii sister I'm a athlet n my main event is long jump but I have one problem while doing jumps. While doing run way mostly my leg was going back tht means I'm doing back kicking and my ankle was also not landing problem I have dne many workouts but I can't able to change tht please suggest me to solve my problem sis plzz
@janaydeloachsoukup37036 жыл бұрын
Hi there! This is a very common problem for a lot of athletes, and in order to correct this problem of "butt kicking or running in the back yard" you have to engage your core and bring the hips/butt in. This would feel like tucking your butt in or squeezing your butt cheeks together in order to keep core engaged. This tuck or squeezing of the buttocks shouldn't allow your hips to drop (like sticking your butt out) or legs to go back into butt kicks. Knees should easily come to 90 degrees as you run, which means you've accomplished the tuck/squeeze/core engagement, and landing correctly is result of this proper movement. Just keep in mind that you have to develop this good posture as a habit in order to create easy and good running mechanics down the runway. Hope this helps!!!

Jumping rope helps with cardio fitness but it won't really help with the long jump.

@OutperformOfficial4 жыл бұрын
Hi Arshad, we are the production company that produces these videos. The best advice I can give is 1. Become a student of the sport and learn as much as you can. 2. Work hard and practice the technique and drills 3. Most importantly, have fun, enjoy the journey and understand that improvements take time. Good Luck!

No need to kick the foot back before extending into the latter part of the B skip... You demonstrate correctly but then he executes it all wrong.
