Great recommendations everyone! Keep them coming. 1. Eric Goldberg's book Character Animation Crash Course. This book touches on all aspects of animation, how to animate weight, character performance, cartoony animation style tricks, etc. 2. Yourself! Video reference is an incredibly helpful tool. 3. Walt Stanchield's Drawn To Life book. This helps with posing. 4. The Animation Happy Hour Podcast by Garret, Ben, and Katie. They are pro Disney animators who give free practical advice. 5. The Animation Podcast from Clay Kaytis. This is an archived podcast that has animation veterans on (Glen Keane, Eric Goldberg, James Baxter, Andreas Deja, and even Milt Kahl!)

Thank you for this great synopsis of animation tools. You explain not just what they are but WHY they are good resources and how they help with learning animation skills. Very complete information. I came across those two books in my own research, definitely considered must haves for any animator! Keep up the great work!

@@ZeroToAnimator The only other book I've been looking into getting is Character Animation Crash Course! by Eric Goldberg (30yr+ animation veteran).

Nice! I have that one too. The section on smear frames and cartoony animation was so helpful!

I was holding off on Illusion of Life but your description of the book makes me very interested. I'd add Walt Stanchfields Drawn to Life to the list. Very helpful and practical to improve poses

Thank you for your feedback. It was not my intent to mock the Bible or Catholicism, as both are very important to me. I'll make sure to draw analogies more clearly and respectfully in the future.
