This video came at the perfect time for me. Just realized I needed to simplify my sketches and avoid trying to draw all the outlines/full figure from the start. But I had no idea how to do that. Simply combining the skeleton and basic forms is such an obvious solution. But I was trying to do both separately on individual layers. This will save both time and frustration.

Got a question for you James - I know this is "for animation" but capturing gesture and personality seems important for any sort of character drawing, including things like illustration. Is there a point where you start to hit diminishing returns if you want to improve your character drawing but don't want to be an animator? For example, learning about traditional painting might improve your digital brush work and colour theory but after a point you should stop following that thread if you don't actually want to be a traditional painter.
@moderndayjames2 жыл бұрын
All this applies to any form of character drawing. I don't think you'll hit a point of diminishing returns on improving your character's gesture!

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” - John 3:16 God bless everyone here.
